@@haseebahmed235 Here is the difference: In Super 6,we play 5 matches to qualify for Semis.While playoffs in IPL are kind of semis itself.And because that 1999 super 6 format was flawed due to carry forward points from league stages,it was never continued.Even recent super 6 stages doesn't carry forward points like 99 world cup did.
