I seem to remember things like when At the Drive In put out In/Casino/Out and a handful of people saw them live and raves about it..fast forward to when Relationship of Command came out and all of a sudden I’m being told “I was at that show at the Pontiac” by 60 different people, when I was actually at that show and there was like 25 people there. Or all those kids who LOVED Reggie and the Full Effect because all the girls they had crushes on loved that shit. Or how I saw Modest Mouse in a basement in Philly around the time of This is a Long Drive, and now I have hipster kids trying to talk down to me about “the good old Modest Mouse” when they’re referring to an album that came out 8 years after I first saw them, and 4 years after I think they started declining. At least this kid isn’t trying to impress some girl with star tattoos on her shoulders and black horn rimmed glasses that she doesn’t need.
