Just realized the Arcana Cards Roman Numerals are probably Placeholder Art, which is very nice as I don't want to re-read every one every single time I open the menu
I absolutely love Aracnee’s sash keepsake as the armour it gives stacks with the dresses, meaning dresses like the scarlet one that doubles your cast damage, or the one that gives you money every room won’t be lost after a single hit from Hecate. I once kept said dress all the way to the spoiler third area boss using the sash and the haphestus boons that give like 70 armour on pick-up and the 10 armour each encounter
The downside to it though is if you lose the amour and don't have any then it becomes useless il be nice if it gived you the couple amour each encounter weather you have amour or not
@putra.m.tampubolon yea I don't quite get the prime magic I think that's the purple bit by your health en in with like 20 on or something not sure what it does though
Thank you for this video! As someone who enjoys your videos but doesn't have the time to watch them all, this is exactly what I wanted before dipping my toes in the Hades 2 pool. Very useful! A short beginners guide for the first few runs would be welcome as well.
Just wanna say that this is probably as close to a 10/10 for an early access game that I've ever played. It's got a ton of depth and replayability but there's just enough missing that it gets you excited for the future.
I like Odysseus' Keepsake for the final biome because that reduced damage from bosses is No Joke, especially since the boss hits so hard. The other effect is pretty negligible I've found but you can stack it with an effect from that biome's break room (no clue what else to call it, avoiding spoilers) and it can help almost entirely skip the first phase, if that's something you care about literally at all
I've followed your youtube channel for a while now because I love hades and learning about the game, but wasn't here for the initial launch. it's been a ton of fun watching your stream coverage of early access!
5:05 Thanatos aspect is also very very good in a glyph build the crit adds each time an ennemy is hit by a glyph passive ( like zeus lightning) and it is very easy to not get hit when you have a way to launch your glyph directly at the ennemies ( like hectia's fire ball glyph) it's really one of the strongest build i have played so far, it has alot of dps ( each lightning doing around 200 damage thanks to crit), good against crowd and very easy to use you can just snipe your ennemy from the other side of the screen and focus on dodging .
Before I watch the video, I don't even think you're going to be able to fully explain the amount of new content in this game. This is such a fantastic early release. It's more difficult than the original but goddamn I love this game already. I'm going to be watching all your videos, and also have you beaten Chronos yet? I got to his second stage and blew up lol
@@GiggityGooh The parts that look like they have darkness in them are the ones you need to avoid. Anything that looks clear stand in it. That part when he makes the entire room dark run and start standing in that circle. He got me twice and I nearly lost but I had like 20 health left when I beat him. Used the daggers with Zeus and the aspect of Pan
Couple notes: For the aspects, the alternate forms require nightmare. The only ones that instead use miscellaneous items are the originals The familiars can indeed be upgraded already. You just have to make more of the treats and give it to them. I don’t know if there is a limit to how much. I currently have Frinos at lvl 3 and haven’t tried to give more treats yet. Just cleared an 8 fear run and no longer have options for that weapon, so it looks like it doesn’t require you to go to 16 atm.
Have you considered doing a video on how you evaluate different boon choices? In some videos you say this or that is or isn't good value. What's your process on deciding what boon to pick?
Zagreus was trying his hardest to escape the underworld and went against Hades, Melinoe is trying to reach the furthest depths of the underworld to save her family from Chronos (or is it Kronos...?). Honestly, if this game turns out extremely well (I have no doubt it will, everything is great so far, and the games not even finished yet. But this is my opinion) I'm kind of curious if they would actually move on to the third sibling I read about... I think her name is Macaria...
My guess would be that the Giants make a return... And it could be up to Macaria to handle it maybe... But that's just my idea, it could be something else...
@@phaerlax yeah you're probably right. This was just an idea anyway, it sounded cool in my head... Wonder what else they would make, what do you think?
7:00 Both Familiars can be upgraded if you give them additional treats. You have 3 options for each familiar when you give them that treat allowing you to use their tool more times per run, increase max health/death defiances, and one other that I don't recall off the top of my head.
Since you asked about keepsakes I like I gotta mention knuckle bones, -15% of damage from the boss can actually be really good especally for the final encounter
Less damage taken from the last boss plus removing 15% of his health from the start of the fight helps a ton. Fun fact if you didn't know, it actually stacks with dad's "deal 20% of Chrono's health at the start" thing you can get as well. Personally I find phase 2 harder, but a lot of people find phase 1 harder overall so functionally reducing his health by 35% is a huge boon (assuming you get lucky from your Hades encounter).
Imagine the 6th weapon is the Sword of Zagreus with more than one hidden aspect, like aspect of Melinoe would be the last to get, an aspect involving the mixed powers of the siblings together or something like that. Now that would be fun to use.
The Arcana card U, that gives more Arcana cards can give the final one… that gives more cards. If you do it early you can have all the cards. The beast loves morsels can be fed to companions to upgrade them.
I’ve been loving starting with the silken sash from Arachne and carrying through some her of armour effects really deep into a run. I’ve had multiple runs with it where I have nearly 100 armour at Chronos and I’m still benefiting from the passive she gave me all the way back in the first biome. The only issue is that you do need to commit to it if you still have armour and an effect you want to keep after the first biome as you probably need that passive armour generation. But if you manage to get the Hephaestus boon where you prime magic for 30 armour each room then you can usually take it off
I like using the torches by constantly pressing the attack button. You need a lot of magic for that, and get as much boons you can that decrease the amount of magic used, get Zeus, magic regeneration card, and you can clear pretty much every encounter simply keeping one button pressed, and keeping your distance. You can still dash while doing that, so it's not even that hard to avoid damage. But I haven't uncovered any aspects as of yet, so maybe that will change this strategy. Anyway, I really recommend giving it a try.
I really loved combining torches with Hephaestos boons (periodic blasts with high damage). This play style feels most natural with torches: spam a few specials, slightly retreat, use normal attacks, repeat.
I've taken a liking to Arachne's Silk Sash keepsake. Combined with the clothing she gives you, you can exit the first biome with over 100 armor and the clothing buff.
i personally really love the pin as far as keepsakes go when you only have 1 or 2 DDs because depending on the situation it is a free heal in any given non boss room (ie there is one more enemy left in the room you are sure you can kill in 10 seconds and you are below 60 hp so you purposefully die to get to 60 hp) you are also impervious during it so it allows you to go for high risk moves when it procs. Ive also found evil eye to be good when you cannot consistently get past a boss (chronos for me) as it is a lot of extra damage
I don’t think I have hated someone as much as I hate Eris right now It’s just the “nana nana booboo” ass personality and the fact I was having a good day before I encountered her Unrelated but Good video
With regards to boons. I've been using the gold one first biome to get cards for Charon. I've struggled the most versus the bosses more than anything, so I usually pick the one that nerfs bosses or the one that gives bonus damage versus the enemy that last liked you at the end.
I’ll note that this game has a WAAAAY higher expected power point for Melinoë than Hades 1, which is good since there are about three times as many power sources to play with to get there. You didn’t even mention the Infusion boons or Path of Stars things yet, which are run-defining.
I like to use the armor keepsake for zone one, max rank builds 4 armor per room, then get like gold bonus armor or something from Arachne and then switch keepsakes and keep that bonus rolling for extra long
In the name of Hades, Super Giant I accept this sequel! I’ll be honest at first I was a little underwhelmed with the weapons and boons but man after making some progress I’m freaking loving every aspect of Hades 2! Sooo good I almost don’t want to play anymore until the full release so i can experience everything the game has to offer but that’s not happening 😂
My favourite Keepsake has been Eris so far! Getting to the final boss, you have %30 more damage (or higher) but take %30 damage. It’s risk vs reward but I seem to be doing so more more damage and don’t notice a difference from damage taken. Especially with the three death defiance.
Funny, I had the exact opposite experience. Daggers were my least favorite, and the Umbral Flames I found to be really strong and easiest to use. And I exclusively used their attack and never the special. One thing I expected to be good but turned out to be terrible with them was the boon that adds damage for a high mana cost per attack. That actually gimps them completely. But if you stack mana and then use their charged up attack, you can dash around without cancelling it, and stagger enemies. Get lucky and get some boons that shorten your mana use/charge up time and you become quite formiddable.
I wonder how you're able to channel your omega attack for the Axe? During the livestreams I noticed you're able to do it right after the first strike, but in my case I have to strike 3 times (2 normal and 1 charged up one) before starting to channel... is it a controller thing? Ive been working well with the knives and staff better than the axe tbh - it feels so heavy to wield!
As a much less skilled, more casual player, Arachne’s keepsake is incredible. Gives bonus 4 armor per room (not encounter) and if you run into Arachne you can give yourself a really nice regenerating cushion of health.
I quite like taking the knuckle bones for cerberus bc I find it difficult to avoid taking at least a couple hits and the burst and dmg resist help reduce it
I have been using Engraved Pin a lot, since it works once per room, and gives 60HP at max rank. Even when all enemies are defeated. you can just use the terrain to damage yourself and "kill" yourself and just get to 60HP instead.
So the most consistent way I found to win is by only using the arcana in the left corner, which gives you 10 rerolls max, 300 gold, and the final arcana which activates 5 other arcana when you beat a boss. Then you turn on the boon deleter in the fear modifiers which let's you min max every build because you have so many rerolls you get exactly what you want, and the boons you don't want never come back. On top of that, there's a glitch with the siren sisters that allows you to activate the final arcana multiple times, meaning you can have every arcana active by the 3rd biome which is just a free win at that point.
@robertss1000 yes it's honestly broken even if you don't do the glitch, however the first biome is pretty brutal on high fear so you have to play well. You have to activate those specific cards because the card in the left corner requires the ones around it to be active, which includes the gold one
@ilikestamps2978 oh OK though the gold 1 may not count as its diagonal but oh well you do get 5 and you get get the lucky tooth to start with 1 and then hopefully you will get the card for it also the glitch could come from cause its sadly you kill guardian you gwt random cards but the second 1 its counting 3 times as you do take on 3 in 1 in away but yea will get fixed
@robertss1000 Like I said even if you don't get the glitch, by the time you get to chronos almost all of them are active so it's fine in my opinion. I also think biome 2 and 3 are just easy anyways. I would recommend using the artifact that changes your common boon to heroic, and then trying to get the boon from Hera that increases your damage the more boons you have that aren't common.
One thing im confused about is what a 'Location' is. Is it each region? Or the encounters in a region? I feel like they changed the name since Hades 1 and it confuses me.
Locations and Encounters are different. Both are basically chambers, but encounters are only chambers w/ enemies. Meaning that anything that works w/ amount of encounters will not count fountain rooms and such as one.
Ha! Spoilers. You merely adopted spoilers. I was born in it, moulded by it. Growing in a less financially advantaged family, I almost never saw a film in theatre, I had to wait for the TV runs, or the VHS (yes, I'm more than 30yo). I had to wait to find a game in a secondhand store to play it myself. My friends and their friends would talk lengths about the new cultural things, and I listened, learned secondhand, before I could ever experience the things. Spoilers are the way I experienced the culture for so long, it doesn't bother me anymore, I seek them. And so, I watch videos about games I'll probably only earn in a few years. Let the pioneers write down their guides, so I won't suffer their frustrations when I get stuck, learn the tricks from my predecessors. Enjoy your play, as I enjoy watching you play.
As far as keepsakes go I think Knuckle Boons is pretty solid especially if ur max DDs going into Cerby and Chronos (1 or the other as the health debuff is only the first boss faced but the -15% dmg is for all guardians so it can be very usefull
@robertss1000 just depends on my boons sometimes I feel underpowered going into 3rd fight so I want the healt reduction but it also is dependent on how many Death Defiance I have left
I wonder if it is Nix the final boss of the second path, she is the only one who i would consider in the same level of power as Chronos or maybe we get a third path fighting children of Nix as bosses.
Really need a guide how to kill Chronos. I find all content up to him easy by comparison. He seems to hit me off screen or if i get close he does massive damage.
The supergiant legacy lives on They make a great game , they make a masterpiece , they make a great game, they make a masterpiece, they make a great game Bastion, transistor, pyre, hades, hades 2 I bet hades 3 will be a masterpiece Arachnes keepsake and charons is solid
Il take awhile to get the nightmare cause in hades 1 you got 2 titan bloods pure run in this 1 you get 1 obviously things will change each run and have it where chronos also drop 1 each run also with the chaos pink slab thing il be nice if they can do daily challenges from it where it can give bunch of random good stuff if your looking for something
I have gotten to Chronos about 5 times so far and have only just barely lost (about 5% left). The 2nd boss in Oceanus keeps taking too much resources from me. Struggling to consistently have enough damage at that point
Does it have the quality of life options to decrease enemy damage each time you die? I loved hades but was not very good and that QOL option made it playable for me.
Play through the game enough and an event will trigger telling you to go to the surface. You’ll then need to do 2 incantations in the cauldron. First one removes the wards and lets you go up. The second one shows up a little after that, letting you actually stay up there, as the first run will see you leaking health to your curse
Lmao, I just learned today that you can have more cards than starting 10 energy limit, i had a hard time with 3rd boss, after upgrades I almost killed the last one
Instead of working like normal boons, any following boons after the first instead give you an amount of upgrade points for the Hex you chose. It can range from “% more dmg when hex is ready” to “hex lasts ___ seconds longer.” This continues for as many Selune rooms you find, tho I’ve yet to fully fill out any upgrade path myself
@@salchipapa5843 ah no worries, it’s a new kind of boon from a titan named Selene. Rather than buffing an ability, it gives you something unique that can only be activated once you’ve used X amount of mana. Ranges from “5 second slow down” to “Fire a beam that does 1200 dmg.” The path of stars would then upgrade these abilities
You're not the only one. I beat Chronos a few times and unlocked the weapon aspects but still can't upgrade my grasp or arcana cards. Maybe it'll unlock for me eventually...

On top of that, there's a glitch with the siren sisters that allows you to activate the final arcana multiple times, meaning you can have every arcana active by the 3rd biome which is just a free win at that point.
When it activates 5 cards after a boss fight does it active the upgraded ones also is it better to gey the 3 death defiance over the 300 gold
The omega boosting one is really good, u need ro take 250 damage for it but it helps a lot if u wanna nuke chronos
One thing im confused about is what a 'Location' is. Is it each region? Or the encounters in a region? I feel like they changed the name since Hades 1 and it confuses me.
Locations are the new term for Chamber, it makes sense why they changed it when you see the third zone I think.
Locations and Encounters are different. Both are basically chambers, but encounters are only chambers w/ enemies. Meaning that anything that works w/ amount of encounters will not count fountain rooms and such as one.
12:51: So, who do you think drops entropy?
It's eithier a scroll or someone's beard/wig.
How do you unlock the aspects I beat chronos twice and still don't see them. Also why does the heat for each weapon not show?
Ha!
Can you suggest Cards updates priority on the beginning( obviously after 2nd death defince)
As far as keepsakes go I think Knuckle Boons is pretty solid especially if ur max DDs going into Cerby and Chronos (1 or the other as the health debuff is only the first boss faced but the -15% dmg is for all guardians so it can be very usefull
I use the knuckle bones but I use it after I best cerby so I get the health reduction on the last fight
The supergiant legacy lives on
They make a great game , they make a masterpiece , they make a great game, they make a masterpiece, they make a great game
Bastion, transistor, pyre, hades, hades 2
I bet hades 3 will be a masterpiece
Arachnes keepsake and charons is solid
Il take awhile to get the nightmare cause in hades 1 you got 2 titan bloods pure run in this 1 you get 1 obviously things will change each run and have it where chronos also drop 1 each run also with the chaos pink slab thing il be nice if they can do daily challenges from it where it can give bunch of random good stuff if your looking for something
Giving pets the same "treat" u gave to them to unlock them is how u upgrade them
Ive been keeping the Chaos keepsake on thinking I would lose the boon if i took it off 😭
Chaos Trials are basically Challenge Rifts from Diablo 3 if anyone out there played that game
Hello everyone, I use the Silken Sash to keep my armour and Arachne’s buff active longer.
I have gotten to Chronos about 5 times so far and have only just barely lost (about 5% left). The 2nd boss in Oceanus keeps taking too much resources from me. Struggling to consistently have enough damage at that point
Is that some Celeste music in the background?
Does it have the quality of life options to decrease enemy damage each time you die? I loved hades but was not very good and that QOL option made it playable for me.
You have god mode where it's start of with 20% damage resistant and each time you do a run or die il go up 2 2% max out at 80%
@@robertss1000 oh wondrous, similar to Hades 1 then good this shitty player needs all the help I can get 😆
Aspect of Moros is really OP try it
How do you get an additional treat for the pets. I got the incantation for it but it only gave me one for the frog.
16:17
I have 38 hours I thought you meant like first minor patch info. I'm stupid I just read the title again.
fuckin awesome shouts out to the 2000s
PLEASE! Give us a guide to defeat chronos... i can't even know what are he going to do... :''''(
Hey. I would like to know how do I unlock the entrance to the surface. Thanks in advance.
Play through the game enough and an event will trigger telling you to go to the surface. You’ll then need to do 2 incantations in the cauldron.
First one removes the wards and lets you go up. The second one shows up a little after that, letting you actually stay up there, as the first run will see you leaking health to your curse
Why can't I upgrade my cards I killed chronos already :
Lmao, I just learned today that you can have more cards than starting 10 energy limit, i had a hard time with 3rd boss, after upgrades I almost killed the last one
Does anyone know how to get a higher proportion of boons in a run? I get so many non-boon rewards and feel weak af
how can i get Insight Into Offerings incantations
I was hoping to learn what the hell the Path of Stars is. I have the game but haven't played it yet. Don't mind spoilers.
Instead of working like normal boons, any following boons after the first instead give you an amount of upgrade points for the Hex you chose.
It can range from “% more dmg when hex is ready” to “hex lasts ___ seconds longer.”
This continues for as many Selune rooms you find, tho I’ve yet to fully fill out any upgrade path myself
@@shmooters5599 I don't even know what a hex is. I guess I either have to play the game or do some research. Thanks for the info either way.
Do i need to buy it again for tur launch version??
Nope
Tell them about the bath salts Haelian. 🧂🧂🧂
Am I the only idiot who didn't understand how to unlock grasp and spent the first 50 nights with hardly any cards active?
You're not the only one. I beat Chronos a few times and unlocked the weapon aspects but still can't upgrade my grasp or arcana cards. Maybe it'll unlock for me eventually...
Why cant i access the aspects
crazy to see that despite the fact that he is a professional youtuber focused on hades, i have actually unlocked more of the arcana and incantations than he did. I just beat chronos last night after 35 hours and 75 runs
Why are there two N keepsakes?
Probably just a typo
why do i feel the aim assist for mouse are so bad
CONCAVE STONE can screw your build.
Oof as much as I loved hades the resource grind was already brutal in that game and it seems like it's gonna be worse here
how the fuck do iget more grasp points?!
Too bad the aspects don't differentiate visually... for now?? in Hades I they did.
Just the icons aren't in, the 3d models are there
@@Haelian ok thanks I did not notice but for the ones i've unlocked it was prolly discrete
Algorithms
Haelian you wear boxers or briefs?
Boxers
