This is a quiet diesel, and I also like the +/- shift mode. The 6-speed automatic transmission typically mated to a Chevrolet cutaway minibus Duramax engine is a GM 6L90. I would choose the 2012+ G4500 Chevy over any minibus with a tired old Ford 2010 Powerstroke. The older Powerstroke engines sound like a bunch of hammers thrown into a clothes dryer, the clutch fan sometimes turns on and you lose some power, and driving the thing makes us tired after every shift.
@@eugew23 the MaxxShitter 7/powerShiTter 6.4’s are a weak engine structurally and can explode themselves from too much pressure of pulling weight. The pistons can literally crack in half.
@@charlesrodriguez7984 Well, the 6.4L MaxxForce 7 V8 Turbocharged Diesel has the same reliability as the 6.4L Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel. Except that the 6.4L Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel is quieter.
The ambulance service I used to volunteer for had a 2013 Chevy G4500 and a 2012 Chevy G3500 Savana Van they were great units with the 6.6 Duramax Turbo Diesel
Chevrolet kept their 6.6L Duramax V8 Turbo Diesel longer than Ford having their 6.0L Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel. Chevrolet discontinued their 6.6L duramax V8 Turbo Diesel from all of their express cutaway after the 2015 model year. While Ford discontinued their 6.0L Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel after the 2010 model year. I have a 2016 e350 superduty shuttle bus 6.8 V10 6 speed transmission and its a powerful and smooth ride but gas guzzler 10 on the highway at best. It's 22 feet and really tall
My high school uses this exact model for the flag football team I’m on whenever we can’t get a regular bus to drive us to the games cross town I love these inwajt to get my own one day
Not gonna be rude but in my opinion to be honest, I understand the need for them is based on property/agency/purpose but they ride so rough, require constant maintenance and are just not as driver-friendly as a transit and/or even as a school bus. however some buses derived from cutaways ride smoothly, kinda like this one.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Manufacturers don't spend time and money updating interiors on mass work vans and trucks because there isn't demand for it. Ford did the same thing with their Econoline/E-Series vans and it worked well for them.
The current gen Chevrolet Express was introduced back in 1996, and has had only minor changes to the interior and exterior, the last being sometime around 2007. That is why the van looks so old.
I love that 2007-2013 Chevrolet Steering wheel 2021 Express still have it
Also tahoe
Yeah I don’t know why but I just love that wheel
it’s also the same body they have been using since like 1997
These blinkers sounds great! Left and right turn!
They are the same sound

Oh thanks for the info! We also have 2009/2010 Ford cutaways with the diesel and your description of the noise they make is quite accurate 😂

It's from the turbo on the 6.6L Duramax V8 Turbo Diesel.
That's in the year 2013
Nice work man I’ve been a subscriber of yours for a while and I was wanting to know can you do an ASMR video of this thing because this is amazing😊
so wonderful really beautiful video Eugene friend
The engine kinda sounds like the Maxxforce 7 that you hear on some IC school buses
It does. The turbo definitely does too.

Great another channel for me to weirdly obsess over... i just bought a 14 E350 bus out of auction, i just wish it had signs
+/- shift is really not good, very delayed response from the button to the trans
Can you drive one with a 6.0l v8 gas or something similar to that
All of our Express vans are diesels!
But don't worry, I got a Triton V10 on the works!

Any reason why the latest express is still using the 2000s chevrolet look and interior
