I grew up with a few Saab's at home and my parents were the sort of type who liked them. Architects, european design lovers, happy to have something different. When the 900 Turbo arrived, tan leather interior on black paint, I still remember how happy my dad was. But, my main memories is of my mum being pulled over and fined for speeding in it multiple times!! Great memories LOL

if its the b204 engine they are very good for boostage. The vauxhall boys go crazy for them as the engines are extremely similar to the retops, so they use these. Cheap, big boosts and loads of smiles. This looks a right gem!

This is a B202 engine. While it would easily cope with high boosts, the gearbox and inner drive shaft joints wouldn't be up to the increased torque/shock.

Its quite popular to transform these low pressure ones to the high pressure ones. You can either find an apc unit, or just do some slight modding.

Just add the fpt stock intercooler and adjust up the wastegate, don't bother with full APC as it can be too much hassle to get right.

I much prefer the old saabs to bmw. Unique and with engineering!

No leather ?? Maybe swop the interior ? Lovely seller although they do say be cautious of the seller who has a story that you want to hear when buying a car ??

Hi, I had an 8v model in white a few years ago as a classic occasional car, 185k miles but still v good. (Picked up from an enthusiast in Yeovil, I trained it from the midlands for a roadtrip back always good fun). Just before values starting really taking off and you could buy old motors at very do-able prices.... Unfortunately at 6ft 2 it just always felt a bit cramped for me in the driving seat. Still love the unusual styling elements and the heritage. Ps my next classic was a w124 3litre petrol..... and I should have kept that one too 😉 Struggled selling it at time, now they are proper money .... ps channel would be much better without the f word needlesslessly thrown in regularly 😉

no the Carlson wasn't really more sought-after than the SPG by real saab people, it was just kind of a one-off. The SPG is the holy grail, hands down. No question. But all the 900s were holy grails. Dude, you have no idea; this is your first saab... you're going to be hooked and get rid of the BMWs once you get addicted to driving it. nothing compares to driving these! You should really paint the rear bumper extensions the same color as the rear bumper. The middle side-skirt is the only thing that should be lighter gray. That's very important to the original look. The grey bumper extension with black bumper is a real no-no for a saab person.

Warum steht am Heck 900S und an der Front "turbo" ? 141 oder 160 hp ? Greetings from Germany.

      I think it’s a 141 hp soft-turbo. No boost-gauge in the panel.

Sadly red is the worst colour for these.
Black, grey or silver suit it best.
