Dear Dr. Lee, thank you for your precious knowledge you are sharing with us. I have a problem that nor oftalmologist nor neurologist can explain. I get flickering lights in my peripheral vision everytime I go from the dark room into the room with lights and I can see flickers of fluorescent lights in peripheral vision. I also occasionally get flashes of light. I am 23 year old female, this problems started a year ago. Did all eye exams, everything is fine with the eye. MRI showed cavernous malformation in the parietal lobe, but doctors say it's "accidental finding". No one can explain those flickering sensations I get. EEG is okay, some small changes exist but neurologists say it's normal. VEP showed smaller amplitude of the wave P135 on the left side, but neurologist says it's not important because latency and all the rest is OK.. so yeah, I feel like I'm a mystery

i've seen this in 2 neuro patients that came in for non-eye related problems: they can move eyes left and right, up and down just fine, but on convergence, one eye can't quite make it all the way medially as the other. it just sort of drifts back towards neutral position. Didn't seem to bother the patients. Had imaging done in one of the patients for headaches, brainstem looked fine on 1.5 T MRI. thoughts?
