DJ is the perfect choice for MJ! We even got to hear Layne sing - which is always a treat. This arrangement was done by Geoff - a "lounge" bluesy edition of this famous song! 🌹🕊
This is my favorite for now. For a year or two it was Hoist the Colours , but this is so beautiful. Deejay was the perfect person but I really like that they didn’t try to mimic the original. If you want to see another good combination of a super high tenor and Geoff’s incredible bass, check out their version of Stand By Me that they did. For that they brought in the original tenor one from back when they were still in high school. Mykal Kilgore was their tenor one and Earl who is usually the high-pitched one if you’ve looked at their older videos was the tenor two - the lower of the two! Mykal left shortly after high school graduation to Broadway where he had a very successful career including a Grammy. It is hard to spot that production because they did it in the vertical format like they do their shorts but it is a full production and it is stunning. It is a very close second to this one for my favorite.
Layne was the baritone back in middle and high school and a few yrs later when Scott Porter (beatboxer) left VoicePlay (then called 4:2:Five) to take up an acting career (in the Good Wife, Lucifer season 6, Friday Night Lights and many more). Layne really wanted to do beatboxing instead of baritone so Geoff taught him what he knew and Layne ran with it and never looked back. We occasionally get to hear him sing but it is a rare event. You can hear Scott Porter in VPs Halo Theme when Scott came back as the featured guest and also did a tribute to Rek, a member of the VoicePlay team (not singer).
DJ's done a few songs with VoicePlay now. This one is my favorite, but before this one, it was Bang! They also did a lovely version of MJ's Man in the Mirror with DJ. Loved your reaction! ❤
Geoff did a beautiful arrangement with this one ❤ It even was in consideration for a Grammy, along with their cover of "Hellfire" but sadly they weren't nominated 😢 Can't remember if you saw "Hellfire", it has Geoff on lead 😉
Love the reaction! Geoff is just amazing! You should really check out his cover of "I see Fire", it showcases his impressive range that had me with goosebumps the whole song!
This one has ALL the sexy! A fantastic slow groove. I especially love the part where DeeJay is vocalizing over Geoff's "Stand Up Bass" sound. Nice jazzy feel! FYI - they also have a really fun one that dropped back on Dec.13th. The developers from the game Warframe asked them to do a cover of a song from the new Warframe update (Warframe 1999). It's a take on the in-game '90s Boy Band that gets 'infected' with a kind of hive-mind virus. They had a lot of fun with it and funked up the genre a bit. Great bass line and beats. It slaps!
Can you please react to Guy Sebastian- big bad World (Then & now 2018) ruclips.net/video/BWtrKgTEvI0/видео.htmlsi=Xz6zl4h0SKXgy_UT his voice is amazing on this and this song is just so cute. He wrote it for his son when he was missing him.

When they first all come in together on “the way you make me feel” …that sounds SO GOOD it gives me shivers.

Deejay was on a national tour of Hamilton and has appeared in it on Broadway. His vocal flexibility is amazing!!
