Parle Products was established as a confectionery maker in the Vile Parle suburb of Mumbai, in 1929. It began manufacturing biscuits in 1939. In 1947, when India became independent, the company launched an ad campaign, showcasing its Gluco brand of biscuits as an Indian alternative to British-branded biscuits.
Parle-G biscuits were earlier called 'Parle Gluco' Biscuits until the 1980s. The "G" in the name Parle-G originally stood for "Glucose", though a later brand slogan also stated "G for Genius".]
In 2013, Parle- G became India's first FMCG brand to cross the ₹ 5,000 crore mark in retail sales

I stayed near the factory. Biscuit making aroma was awesome and mouth watering. My granny used to get broken biscuit from factory at cheap rate as evening tea snacks. 😁😁😁. I am proud to see this video

Even if you're traveling from train by that area then you can feel the aroma of biscuits. I used to go outside parle station shops where the shopkeeper used to keep broken pieces of biscuits at cheap rate like you said. I think factory has been shifted to other place long time back. Unfortunately gone those day's now.

गांव का नाम "ईर्ला-पार्ले" ही है, यहाँ एक पार्लेश्वर का मंदिर भी है।
पार्ले नाम ही ओरीजनल है, कोई भी बदलाव नहीं है।
बस बाहर के लोग इसे "ईर्ला-पार्ला" बोलते थे।
स्टेशन का नाम अंग्रेजो ने "विले-पार्ले" रखा।
आज मुख्य प्लांट में बिस्किट नहीं बनती। पर कुछ समय पहले जब भी ट्रेन यहाँ से गुज़रती थी तो बेकिंग कि महक से ही मुंह मे पानी आ जाता था.....

i can say that i am 49 yrs old and as far as I remember ; i am experiencing the same taste since 46 years. pls note whenever people go to hospital to meet their patient they choose only PARLE G.
MY TREKKER friend told me that you go toany remotely place in india.you can always get parle G. my friend who had gone to us for studies had to work part time to make up expenses. he told me that from his every salary he used to buy parle g ( bit costlier there for indian mind ) and finish one pack in one time becos he used to get homely feel.my friends used to tell me even if we go blind we can correctly identify one brand in a second is parle g due to taste consistancy. we salute parle G
