I was in Jim Cullum's San Antonio riverfront trad jazz club once on a slow night and a large group had taken the front and center table couple feet from the stage and proceeded to loudly yack away completely ignoring the band. So the band naturally had a bunch of horns .. including a TROMBONE .. right? Well after several numbers they and the rest of us in the club had had it w/ the group. Finally, during one of the songs you could see the band plotting amongst themselves a special response to the rude table. They dropped the volume all the way down during a verse as they snuck up to the edge of the stage and as they came ROARING into the chorus they literally LOOMED OVER the table, the bone had his slide stretched all the way down into the middle of the table knocking over drinks totally catching them all unaware while the rest of the sparse house jumped up laughing and clapping. Shocked and embarrassed they quickly gathered up their stuff in a huff and beat feet. Was absolutely sublime!
Well, he created a lot of magic with this song. Being a musician myself (who gets easily distracted by exactly such stuff) i can totally understand him. When I was doing lectures I expected people to be quiet, because every sound of conversation would bring me out of the zone and the flow of the training.
I don't blame him at all for doing what he did. What the hell were that annoying girl and guy rambling on about in the middle of his song?!!! Go sit in the car next time!!!
Love how Sergey watches all of this calmly, then just gives an "Oh well...." look as he thanks the crowd and goes off. Total fucking pro. And Eugene was totally justified in what he did. He's trying to perform, and assholes have to ruin it for everyone.
God I love this man...thank you Yevhen! Just like he said, I'm not paying hard earned money (and a lot of it these days) to go to a show and hear people LOUDLY yib yabbing about whatever. Go to the back of the room, leave the concert area, or do something that I hear is called WHISPERING so no one else has to hear you (what a concept...and yes, it even works in a noisy concert situation...unless you have hearing issues and then either text to each other or learn sign language).❤☮🌎
What a almost perfect show and night. GB was killin it. Turner hall was lit. Three OnCors and Eugune would have kept going but some idiot had to ruin the moment.
Mind you, I have been to over AT LEAST 15 GGB shows as I was a diehard fan since I was 15 years old (I'm almost 33 now) 5 and I first heard 'When the trickster'...which I was SO FUCKING HONORED to be let on stage with them during my fave song (I think it was trickster or baro faro..I think trickster tho cos I was standing next to the sweet and kind Yuri. He has such a warm smile and gentleman. I was happy to dance and mimic mimic accordian parts of the opening with him :) I love Sergey. He's such a fucking amazing violinist and singer so talented. And I'm glad he's one of the last ones thats stuck around.
It's a slower song that probably has a lot of meaning to him! Let's shout over the whole thing until he plays start wearing purple! Fucking disrespectful.

During a quiet number like that it would be courteous to stay quiet, but anyone who has ever been to a Gogol Bordello show knows that after about a solid hour of being bloodied to a pulp its hard to decompress.
So glad he did that and before he turned I was wondering to myself too, why in the HELL do people have to talk all of the time. Just shut up and enjoy the show, Jesus. It's like you're uncomfortable in your own silence. You know who you are, the ones who have to 24/7 run around with earpods in because they just can't have a solo silent moment to themselves.
Sergey is indeed, a good man. He is generally so inspiring. It takes a lot for someone like him to show his anger. Probably way more than just the talking audience, but everyone has their point of being fed up.
Watched that moment good few times now... The girl who loudly talking, laughing actually whoops when he throws guitar not realizing it's because of her... She still cheering etc when he gone most prob hoping those further away won't realise it was her he was aiming his displeasure at.. Lol
Now how small did they feel.. Guess next time they watch what they paid to.. If u love an artist why would u be chatting during one of his songs anyway.. Oddness.
Ficamos bastante chocados, mas por não conhecer o mundo dele, aceitei aquilo pelo que era. Com tanto tempo passado, acho que me sinto mal pela pessoa que foi gritada. Imagino que ele também se arrependa de ter agido assim.

😫 I love Eugene and GB but this was not a cool reaction. Eugene looks stressed out not only because of that annoying guy though. Looks like years of stress just built up and exploded in that show. Poor guy, I hope he is alright. Fight the demons man!
It definitely was not their happiest set. I missed the over-the-top enthusiasm of the past. This is a low point. I'll bet with enough time, he'll be out fighting the good fight again. Maybe this quarantine has helped.
with all respect - If I would perform a song (musician here) and somebodu would be talking and talking and talking just killint the vibe - I would be angry too. When you are on stage, where the sound from audience is more audible, this can be really distracting. This is said by a person who gets really easily annoyed by people talking during training or perfromance. While I was training people I used to say - if there is a problem, say it loud, don't whisper.
Thx Mom, for yer etiquette update, but yer talking out yer tailpipe. Gig etiquette has been getting worse and worse, ruining it for people there to enjoy gig.
