I just got an Anbernic 35xx out of pure curiosity and I don't have a gameboy anymore and wow! For such a cheap device it's incredible! I just want it to emulate gameboy and gameboy advance for now. My steamdeck can literally do everything else. Thank you for your guides throughout the years. You've been great!

I wouldn't worry too much. If the RG35XX is capable of running these emulators, the mini is technically able as well. So there is a chance these emulators will come to the mini one day. Plus the mini has some really cool native ports like Diablo and Mario 64 that run really well, so we will probably get more of those as well. Can't really go wrong with either device imo.

The fact Koriki read the same GarlicOS is amazing: you can put on the more appropriate OS card depending on the system you want to play, without messing around with game files. Amazing!
I don't own any RG35xx, only because I prefer horizontal designs, but the possibilities opened by custom firmwares make this device really interesting, maybe more than Miyoo Mini at this stage.

Technology will never cease to amaze me. It's absolutely incredible that they've managed to get PSP, DC, and N64 to the states where they are on something that a person such as myself would have pictured bursting into flames if it even attempted to load a splash screen. So yeah. I'm sticking with GarlicOS for now but as these other OSs become more refined, I may find myself flashing another SD card just to try them out if not make the switch altogether.

@@radiogonzo94 ok mine has arrived so i can actually answer that, it handles dual screens by being able to bind a button to change layout or swap screens
performance has some stutters but its very much playable, fast forward is available but its not THAT fast, on account of there not being a huge amount of overhead. that being said 200-300% speed up when you disable sound is perfectly serviceable for level grinding in pokemon especially if you turn of battle anims

    • @radiogonzo94
      @radiogonzo94 Год назад

@@neilbasuracing Thanks! That’s pretty helpful. Not sure if I like the inconvenience of swapping the screens and having both displayed on 3.5 inches sounds way too small, but it’s nice to know there’s the option to have HGSS playable on one of these smaller handhelds. Now back to the struggle of deciding between this or the MM+ still. If the Anber had WiFi so I could conveniently sync saves and still have HDMI it’d win in a heartbeat for me.

The default retroarch config also has threaded video off, likely why PS1 didn't perform that well? The biggest negative for me right now is the lack of USB controller support with koriki, which makes the hdmi output not as useful.

Do MinUI and GarlicOS have/support the same file structure for the second card? Would be nice if you could switch between the Operating Systems by swapping card 1, while still being able to use the same roms and saves on card 2.

Ever get screen tearing with yours? i hear that a lot. it's a shame i really liked the little thing. doesn't do it when i plug it thru the HDMI. doesn't matter neither if i have the original firmware or garlic os.
kinda hesitating from buying other things from them. btw, i played around with the ribbon cable and it had no effect. i find it hard to believe thats the problem. almost just looks like a faulty screen. heard anything about it?

I used to have an RG351M (lost it) and I absolutely loved it. I played a lot of PS1 games on it, many vintage 2D games, and even PSP on it. The form factor was just perfect, it fit in my pocket without being annoying. I've thought about getting another, however I feel like maybe there are better options from Anbernic. It is really confusing seeing as there are so many options out there, so I ask, what is the best replacement/upgrade for the 351M? I'd prefer something that could do PSP better, and maybe run PS2 as well.

I really really hope they pick up batocera for de 35xx again. I just love the emulation station UI. And the ability to load video snaps. Most of the times video snaps give you a better idea of what the game is about instead of a box cover or snap shot. I now have batocera setup to show the box art and after a couple seconds it shows the video snaps. With the wheel showing the games logo.
The downside is. It has some serious issues with loading and playing some roms for some systems.
Sometimes it loads roms right away and other times it needs a couple of tries or even a reboot. Lot of mame games and neo geo simply won't work.
The ultimate software is yet to be released.

I personally think they're equal and depends what you really want. Having N64, PSP and DS on the Anbernic is a plus rather than a selling point, because the performance on those systems is not the best and it comes with other issues as shown in this video.
If you want a slightly bigger device with HDMI out, RTC and better screen and build quality get this one. If you want WiFi, a more robust OS (Onios is easier to install and has more functions than Garlic), more battery life and better feeling D-Pad, get the Miyoo.
