I've always thought that Jekyll should sing the last line. It just makes sense to me, both lyrically and with the scene change into Board of Governors.
Skinner is just AMAZING. I never really got to see her play Lucy, but I was there when Linda was sick, and she had to lip sync to Emily, because Emily was new and hadn't learned the choreography. That was an amazing night.
Yeah, Brad Oscar. Just checked it on ibdb. Both his and Skinner's debuts. People tend to forget this ran for 4 years. I saw Craig Schullman go on as J&H, and he killed it. Of course, he had about 6,000 Valjeans under his belt at that point, so no shock there.
The sound quality of the harmonies are spectacular! For once you can hear the soprano harmonies which are flabbergasting! The only thing that kills the performance is the choppy singing and the choreography.
"If we're not one but two, are we evil or good?" My response: We all choose to be both or either. @ bdtb do you have "Murder, Murder" from this play? If so, could you show it to us, please?
well. we're doing this and i'm in the cast, i'm a dancer and a singer (my character is lady postelwaith), i hope u'll be in this musical too, good luck
I don't like it, it sounds very choppy to me. I also like how "locked behind the facade" at the end is held out longer with the 2000 cast. Just my opinion though.

my high school just did Jekyll and Hyde, it was AMAZING. almost compairable to this
1:04-1:15 SPECTACULAR!!
They did that musical at my school and it was AMAZING!
AMAZING.
I wish they'd do this musical at my school, it's just so amazing
this song is just so amazing!
It's really good! :D This is my favorite song of the whole play! My brother can sing as Jekyll really well, but I can't sing for my life. XD
where did you get all of these videos of the original production! the quality is amazing compared to most other clips of the original.

@GottaLoveShowbiz No .... this isn't the Hasselhoff version..... that came much later !!
pretty much, yes
my fav. broadway song!
Brad Oscar?!? It's amazing to see the Hasselhoff vid (GAK) and see just how many ensemble members stayed for a LONG time.

love 2:05 -2:07
Love it
@butlersoft Oh, well thanks for your correction :) they look very similar: set/costumes/staging/actors
We're doing this in Marching Band.
we're playing this piece in band right now (:
it haunts me
I so want to do this musical!
We R to!!
Exactly. But still, the book is certainly a good read.

I don't see Linda in this at all. Isn't Lucy usually part of this number?
Wtf, what kind of monster rhymes “mean” with complain (sung complean).
I think it's "come clean", not "complain"
VERY loosely based on the book. It uses the same charactesr but rearranges the plot.

@butlersoft I swear this is the David Hasselhoff version isn't it? I was under the impression that it was?
at 0:39 over lady Beaconsfield's shoulder...Emily Skinner
well. we're doing this and i'm in the cast, i'm a dancer and a singer (my character is lady postelwaith), i hope u'll be in this musical too, good luck
Anyone else spot Emily Skinner in this??

my school is performing jekyll and hyde this May and love this song but i must say the singing isn't that strong in this show
Gah!! This is one of my favourites, but honestly! Whoever did the choreography should have done a slightly better job! This is horrid!
They singers are incredible but it's so american. Accent wise, which ruins it seeing as it's set in england.
