I 1919 ankom en prægtig hanelefant til Zoo fra et tysk cirkus. Elefanten Jumbo blev Havens stolthed og var særligt populær, da publikum måtte fodre ham med kiks.

In 1919 a magnificent elephant arrived at Copenhagen Zoo from a German circus. The elephant Jumbo was the pride of the Zoo and became particularly popular because the audience was allowed to feed him biscuits.
