  • A young boy who had been playing on the beach all day. Digging holes, finding small creatures from the sea, some dead, some alive and generally having a great time suddenly realizes that it’s getting too dark to see. He morns the end of the full day of playing, he wants it to go on forever. Then he looks out to the sea at the fading sun beyond the horizon and all of his passion for play and discovery is wiped from his mind by the awe he feels for the first time in his life. The sunset on the horizon has broadened his own emotional horizons.

Interesting!! Putting the figure in the middle works because the sunset draws your eye to the side a bit. You can break the rules sometimes! Nice piece thanks!

There are no rules in art anymore. As soon as you create one someone will break it and make a beautiful painting. Rules don't exist when the outcome is 100% subjective.
