I traveled for a week on a bus, slowly making my way to Nayarit to buy some art from the Peyote (Hikuri) inspired Wixarikas or Huichol artists. Their art is my favorite in all of Mexico.
Watching those kids on the swing made me feel so beautiful. Just imagining how different our childhoods and how beautiful it is that there are such a infinite amount of experiences that are had in this universe. Love to all 💛🧡
this one makes me happy, happy.Cantact high.i love it the colors the art is so beautiful i must go to see this Live.Thank YOU.such great inspiration .May the Good Lord Bless YOU!!!
The simple yet profound lifestyle of these people is so inspiring. Exploring the depths of consciousness, making art and selling it to make a living. Sounds like a life!
I’m Sitting on the floor of the local recreational area of my hometown. I’m by the edge of the water surrounded by forestry just slightly off trail taking in the moment. I was feeling lost, alone, heavy. But When I come here to this space I feel peace of mind, body, and soul. You’re videos have brought about so many fun thought experiments, they’ve completely expanded my perception, and above all you’ve exposed the beauty of this realm to me. Even on my lowest days I find comfort in knowing it’s all okay, it’s all perfect at the end of the grand scheme. the potential we each have to impact others’ lives is fascinating. Big thank you Dakota for your passion and love in all you do. You inspire in more ways than you may know. I wish you a blessed birthday may things BEYOND your wildest dreams come true ♥️
I just got back home to CA last night from a little town named El Recodo in Nayarit, right next to Acaponeta, and man i wish i could go back and just stay! I LOVE NAYARIT! All the nature was insane! I love my culture!
Occasionally I love to sit down and make huichol earrings as I watch your videos, and it just so happens that I'm currently beading as I'm watching this video and catching up with your adventures!! I had to take a pause to write this because I felt this amazing connection and I wish to visit Nayarit one day and bead with the people there! Huichol has allowed me to reconnect with my roots, connect with the universe, and heal as beading is medicine ✨
How fascinating how certain elements of our culture's are intertwined. The beadwork of some of the bracelets is similar to what can be found in South Africa, made by the indigenous people here (where I was born). And interestingly enough, similar can be found in India where my ancestors are from. We live in a beautiful, magical world 🌈🙏🌈
Wow. Stumbled across your channel. Loved this video man. I spent some time traveling through mexico in the early 90's. This took me back in time. I will need to investigate further the Huichol art. Very cool.
happy birthday man, thank you for traveling the world and showing us the beauty and peace and love. You inspired me to a lot of things, have a good one ly everyone xxxx
Thank you for this video. I appreciate your long journey to arrive and show us this beautiful art and people. I am obsessed with colors, fabrics and patterns. I am a jewelry artist and this is very inspiring. Much love from NorCal.
Love it man i appreciate what youre doing out there. I am native from Nayarit, born in Tepic. Ive always been fascinated by the artwork and artesanias and the kora, huichol and many other native cultures
I was thinking the city reminded me of Coco, makes sense when you explained that lady was the reference for "mama coco" I hope they gave her some compensation, or at the credits, The movie Soul used Matthew Silver as refence for a character, and gave him no credit or anything.
Hi dakota! "Los huicholes" have tradicional ritual and come to nuevo leon exactly to Santa Catarina at the Huasteca eco park in the "Cañon de guitarritas" they give some things at the gods who down at the earth! here in te cañon! Good trips! ;)
Anyone know any good artists that sell this kind of art online? Gonna research some more of it and see what's for sale. Those beaded figurines were incredible.
My wife's sister lives in Tepic and I never knew about that village.. That circular ceremonial hut I would image is used with Peyote Do you have any idea if a outsider can maybe pay to attend?
Hey whats up Dakota! Whats your ethnicity? You look like your from all the places you’ve traveled lol 😅 thats pretty cool, you really know how to adapt to new environments. I like yourr dripppp 👌
