I’m a relatively thin woman with multiple chronic illnesses that cause chronic pain. Physical Therapists and Massage Therapists are always shocked at how hard they can work on me because I don’t outwardly look like I’d handle it well…little does anyone know that the pain from those sessions is welcome compared to my “normal” pain(s).

He did an excellent job! It helps that he's easy to talk to and soft spoken. If he were talking like a real arse would, the guys would be in so much more pain than they obviously were. I liked the body builder/deep muscle therapist. Plus, for the gals out there, he was easy on the eyes😊.

The part where Eugene thought it was bone when it was muscle, I’ve had that exact same thing happen. My best friend was over and offered to give me a massage because I have chronic back pain. She got near my shoulders and neck and said, out loud, “what kind of bone is here?” Since I love anatomy and could tell her. I had to say it’s muscle and my body was just that messed up
I sometimes give massages to my family, and I have had two of them say to me, "ow, why are you pressing so hard on that bone?" And me have to gently tell them that's a muscle lol
I had something like that happen to me in theatre college. When showing us a good neck stretch(2 person job), my instructor used me as an example to the stretch, held my head, moved it to the side a bit, pressed my shoulder down a bit before loudly exclaiming "HOLY FUCK, ARE YOUR SHOULDERS MADE OF FUCKING METAL?!" In front of the entire class.
I had no idea my shoulders were *that* tight until my instructor said that.
Been there, I had to explain for my fiancé when he rubbed my shoulders that what he was touching was not bone. He didn’t believe me at first lol

As someone who semi-frequently gets deep tissue massages (my muscles are always SUPER tight), I feel their pain. I often tell people that I view massages as more of a dr appt than a relaxing experience. I always feel soooo much better a couple days after though.
Yes! I took my husband with me once to get a deep tissue massage and afterwards he complained about how rough the lady was… like how else is she supposed to get the knots out lol
I feel so awkwardly bougie when I say we have a masseuse come to the house once a week, and try to clarify that it’s not a nice relaxing spa massage, it’s a painful sports-like massage because I have terrible muscles 🙃

I know I'm so late. But if you live in LA, go to Dr. Trumpi's office. She really helps out her patients and is very informative to your needs. Shes also super nice and considerate. I had my 1 year old son with me(very fussy) and she tooks us to the gym they have there so that he can play with bouncy balls while I got checked. Maybe any other place would've rescheduled me. But she didnt! It was so kind of her. Her staff are so nice and professional. Definitely recommend, 10/10.
