The color-change of your pan is okay. Ferrous metals have a similar range of oxide colors, and each show at different temperatures. It seems your stainless pan did not get >1000 degrees on the brim, so you have the lovely blue/purple peacock color. If you were to sand Nate's leaf, and heat it gently with your torch, or even on the stovetop, you'd get to see those colors live as they change. Pretty neat stuff!
I enjoyed yet another of your videos. I do however want to point out a pet peeve of mine. I'm a painting contractor and I noticed the open door behind you. I enjoyed yet another of your videos. I do however want to point out a pet peeve of mine. I'm a painting contractor and I noticed the open door behind you.
