I Just got the furnace 5/4 hooded. Been a long time Oneill user for 20 years and never had a zipper problem. I found the zipper to be an issue as soon as I got it. Almost returned the suit bc of the zipper. First off, the zipper should be mounted on the top of the flap bc its hard to reach across from your right side and pull the zipper in an upward motion to attach the top of the flap to get the zipper started. It should be reverse bc its easier to use your left hand to pull it down to attach the zipper. Secondly, this is what makes it hard to pull the zipper towards your right side. With all the pressure it takes to pull, I felt like I was going to break it before even using it. This should definitely redesign this zipper. I am going to email them directly about it.
Hahah mine busted too. I can still use it and doesn’t get stuck. By far the best wetsuit I’ve ever owned though. Little busted tab is a hell of a lot better than leaks and deterioration after just a year. My rip curl suits and O’Neil’s were all destroyed after one season. My billabongs are going strong on year 3
It’s comfy, just rinse that zipper religiously and you’ll probably be ok. I’m paying a wetsuit repair company to fix the zipper since it’s outside of warranty.
@@JohnCarrFitness I’m debating on getting the 5/4 hyperfreak to replace my 4/3. I surf in NorCal ( San Mateo to Fort Bragg). Is the hyper freak less warm or the same

Use a fixnzip large to replace it if it’s gonzo. Zlide replacement zipper works too.
Same problem here and it freakin opens up still with the zipper replacement
Damn this is why O’Neill took over. I’m hooked on the hyper freak now
