I just bought a cleaner shrimp 2 days ago and its already so tame that he takes prepared foods like pellets, cleans the fish in the tank, and even climbing onto my hand and cleaning it when I have to fix a piece of rockwork. Hes still shy as expected but hes doing a brilliant job of making his position in the tank well known to the fish especially the two tangs I own.
"minimum tank size for these guys, i would say a 10 gallon; they dont need a lot of space" its so refreshing to see someone offering advice without the mindset of "its saltwater so automatically it starts at 40 gallons"
Yah a lot of people just rob "info" from others, I like to keep it real and base it off my experience with the animals not someone elses recommendations. Thats why I only do care guides on fish I kept in the past or am currently keeping! Thanks for the reply!
I names it after the shrimp from nemo I have four chronus the two small ones are tuti and Todd from Barbie The two big chronus are CHI and nii The yellow tang is bubbles from nemo The pajama thing is John and the bigger smaller one is Cena The stripped pajama is nyan and koi Uwu
Every time I go to the store I see salt water tanks dirtier than fresh water, is it worth changing from fresh to salt and are they harder to maintain or easier?
Definitely worth it if your willing to spend the money. They take more to maintain at first but after the first year they pretty much take care of themselves as I only have to do a water change of 20% once a month.
Hello, at this moment im at day 17 from my 575L aqua medic aquarium. The Nh3 is 0 but i have no sighn from any alge or anything alive. When do u think i can add shrimp? My aquarium is 150x65x55high. I wanne buy 2 cleaner and 2 blood shrimp. I think its better if i put them in the aquarium at same time and i dont mind to buy food for them becouse there is nothing in the aquarium to eat for them. When i gonne buy the 4 shrimp i also gonne buy 2 white snowstorm nemos and some lether corals. Do u suggest i wait with adding them?
17 days in you should be good, check ammonia and nitrite, if those are zero you should be good, I wouldnt add shrimp right away I would do the two clown first for sure. If they do good for a few days add the shrimp!
Yeah I too think they are sooo nice. I've never considered one till 2 mos. ago. I have a phobia of insects with antennas. 😔But I am in love with my shrimp😍. It is such an interesting creature.
It possible they broke off when he was molting, ive had my coral banded shrimp loose claws when molting, they usually grow back after he molts the next time.
İ just bought cleaner shrimp and i aclimated for 30min and i put him in and he died after 5 min what did i do wrong he seem healthy in shop and the bag but died :(
Your tank probably hasn't cycled all of the way, it has to cycle for at least a month, usually if you put fish or inverts in to fast there is ammonia in the tank which will kill almost instantly, either that or your tank has very high nutrient levels.
Eagle Aquatics my tank is 1 yo and have gsp acan and clown and blue damsel in it but i think copper level in my aquatium is to high for shrimp i dont use rodi
Honestly I would stop dosing copper if I were you if there is no signs of disease in the tank. Do a fair amount of water changes and then add a shrimp.
please help i have a blood fire shrimp with a 6 line, clownfish, and a yellow clown goby, the shrimp is fairly small and the yellow clown goby is also pretty small. just today i checked out my tank and i noticed something in the shrimps mouth, it looked yellow and white, i was looking for my clown goby and i didnt find him at all, i eventually made the shrimp drop what was in his mouth and i found the head of the goby, i dont know how this happened and i dont think the goby was being bullied by the six line and the clownfish because they have been together for about 4 months, i honestly dont know what happened, is it possible for the shrimp to eat it?
They shrimp definitally didnt kill the goby haha, the goby likely died from something and the shrimp was eating the dead body like they are suppost to do, thats just whatthe cleanup crew and inverts do when something dies.
These are one of my favorite critters. Recently picked up a watchman goby and tiger pistol shrimp, and the pistol killed the cleaner. So damn pissed. Ended up having to take my tank apart to get the pistol shrimp out. Never again!

Was actually doing research on cleaner shrimps since I am cycling my saltwater aquarium, and stumbled upon your channel.
Great video.
Subbed.
Thanks for the sub.
Love these little guys! I always love going to my local fish store to see them. Im getting a saltwater tank in a couple of weeks. Im so excited!
They are awesome and a must have for any reef tank!!

Mine always jumps on my hand when I'm in there, and you can tell it wants to clean the fish so bad but they swim away. It's so funny watching him try.
I loved these guys when I had them.
Did u introduce both shrimps? The coral banded seems aggressive. How are they able to coexist?
They can coexists, the banded is more aggressive but the cleaner knows to keep its distance.
I love this guys channel
Thanks Fella!!
@@EagleAquatics I
Really like the cleaner shrimp, like the red and white , would love to see you feed the shrimp krill. Your videos are awesome.
Thank you, I will have to get another feeding video out soon.
how much can you keep in one tank? are they territorial or do they just do not care?
You could put 10 in a tank if you wanted to, they dont bother or kill each other.
yeah, they do well in groups
@@EagleAquatics ok thanks :D
What is the lowest salinity I can keep them in I have a fowlr setup
I would say 1.022 - 1.023
love cleaner shrimp
Do you need to dose anything to keep them healthy? Iodine, strontium... Etc.
Not really, regular water changes do the trick, if you have a lot of corals i would definitely recommend dosing calc, alk, mag
When you mention sensitive to high nitrates, what ppm would be considered too much for the shrimp?
I would say 15 is too high anything below if stable will be okay
I names it after the shrimp from nemo

I just bought two peppermint shrimp for my Biocube 32, can't wait to get one of these guys though!
They are great
@@EagleAquatics I'll admit they were one of the reasons I decided to get into salt water.
What do you think about Iodine dosing to help with molting etc? Or would they do fine without that?
I personally wouldnt do it, They do hust fine if you are dosing the big 3 additives, or keeping up with water changes.
@@EagleAquatics that's great, thank you!
@@EagleAquatics what’s the big 3 additives?!
How would these guys do with a pistol shrimp?
They should do fine with one.
We used to get them for $10. And when you bought a coral it was fist size not a frag. Lol I think the shrimp only live a few years.
Where did you buy the shrimp by the way are your plants real or fake where did you buy plants?
I got the shrimp from a local fish store and everything you see in that tank is totally alive.
Can cleaner shrimp be kept with a peppermint shrimp
Yes
Yep

Are they peaceful with their own speicies? For instance I have a 75 gallon tank and would like to get 2 cleaner shrimp.
For sure you can have 10 of them in that size tank if you want, they also get along with fire shrimp and peppermint shrimp.
@@EagleAquatics I found some at a local Petco near me but they're wanting $30 a piece. I'm going to keep searching for a better price.
Yah that fairly high, usually they are around $25
SSEEAAHHAAWWKKSS RULE!!! Damn...my petco sells em for $7!!!
I have a question I tried doing research but I got no awnsers from the Internet
Can the skunk cleaner shrimp be in a freshwater tank?
No it will die! It is a saltwater species
What do you feed them
Mysis shrimp and krill
How’s is your fish tank soo clean ?
Good filtration and maintenance

Can i have more than one in tanks as i like to get stuff in bairs
Yes you can
Great video 👍
Thanks!!
They eat pellets easily? Or should I go with flakes? Great video, congrats! 👏👏
Honestly I wouldnt do either. Id feed frozen only, thats all ive ever done, it polutes the water less. and the creatures like it more.
Can they coexist with goldfish!?
And they have to be in salt water right
Gold fish live in fresh water they will die of you try to put them in the same tank as these shrimp
yes.
Lmao
Can I feed them mysis shrimp?
Yes you can that's what I feed mine.
Hi my cleaner shrimp molted but is losing his whiskers slowly any ideas ¿
It possible they broke off when he was molting, ive had my coral banded shrimp loose claws when molting, they usually grow back after he molts the next time.
Do they live in fresh or saltwater
Water with salt
Can u do a vid for Feeding Corel
I have check it out.
How long do I need to cycle a saltwater tank
Dweebozoid 456 I would say go 4-5 weeks. I just set up my tank and cycled it for 5 weeks and it’s doing great
Dylan Bernal I’ve cycled mine the same amount of time would it be safe to get fish?
do you have any live rock or did you put any bacteria in there?
Dylan Bernal yes I did both
check your water parameters and add some fish to it
