Great directing
You forgot to say all the times that not only he didn't punish Mahidevra for all the EVIL things she did to Hurrem but he made Hurrem apologize to her and her entitled spoiled Brat Mustafa
The way Mahidveran behaved in front of her son was despicable... A true Sultana would've kept her cool and waited until the right time to strike!!! Her hatred and anger pushed Sulieman into Hurrems arms and cost her the lives of those she love most .
Mahidevran was always sad and with a frawn. How was Suleyman supposed to be happy with her? She was unwanted before coming to the big palace. She should had focused on what she had obtained as a Sultana and the Mother of Prince Mustafa, keeping her grace and composture.
Hurrem definitely let mahidvren beat her up, she knew if she fought back she couldn’t play the victim as easily. That’s why she refused to get up. Brilliant move on her part actually.
I read someone saying that she started the fight for that exact reason, she knew that by letting herself get beat up, Mahidevran would fall out of grace. Though, historically this fight apparently never happened. It's a famous story but many historians don't believe it.
Mahidevran has problem with setting priority. See how rude and ill mannered her little son is coz she couldn't train him right. She's crying over a ring and keep disgracing herself over unimportant things
You are right. Mahidevran could have improved the situation for her if she handled everything with intelligence. She would be always crying, behaving like a foolish woman. When Sultan is happy with her, she was still complaining and always was looking in a miserable condition; so this had to happen with her as she herself was attracting misery.
True, it's just a ring, even if she stole it it wouldn't change the fact that Süleyman gave it to Hürrem, that was a stupid move, like she didn't thought they would find out, but I also think a lot of problems with Mahidevran was that they let her grow too confident of herself while Süleyman was a prince, she make a fantasy for herself and none told her no, and now Valide Sultana wishes to make her understand her position, I think she coddled her too much and praised her too. When she arrive to the palace she already thought she was the only love and no other concubines could stop her. My humble opinion.
Reminds me of a certain PM here in New Zealand, too busy crying over her sad little wedding, and making up excuses as to why her pink haired "scientific expert" gets preferential treatment, instead of being a proper leader and taking care of her people.
Hurrem knows what pleases the Sultan. he seems to like strong women with oodles of love and sensuality. Mahidevran is always whining crying and jealous. A sure put off. No wonder she is not able to get the man back.

Hurrem did what she did because she wanted to survive. She had to deal with the circumstances she's dealt with and she 'won' the game. She was a slave, stolen from her family, and sold into the harem, it's not like she applied for the position LOL.
I feel sad for people who are simply here for the harem drama and foolishly skipping the political scenes. From these scenes you would realize how clever and brilliant Ibrahim was and how much sultan valued his council.
I also enjoy the political scenes, but I also know someone with a degree in history that loves all history in general - who would skip through and just watch the drama scene because that's her interest/entertainment. What people enjoy for entertainment and how isn't a sign of foolishness or wisdom.
I don’t understand why Mahidvren was so angry with Hurrem, it’s was expected of the concubines to satisfy the Sultan. Lowkey Hurrem was doing exactly what she was supposed to satisfy the sultan and “maybe” provide heirs. He was actually with Gulfem first anyway.
It's her Character flaw, Mahidevran always used her heart rather than her head, she's a bit like Cersie Lannister, in that she's not as smart as she thinks she is, she had potential but because of this she lost.
I couldn't help but notice how stupid and weak willed Mahidevran is. Instead of focusing on having a healthy child, she focused on the sadness from lacking lecherous Sultan's affection. Hurrem also faced many issues but still She was so focused, determined and happy that she gave birth to so many kids. Never lose your focus. :D
I disagree with slandering Mahidevran who lost the ground beneath her feet, but it's true that you should never lose focus, even more so if you know you are an emotional woman.
I find it interesting to see how people from other cultures portray one another. We are the "villains" from each other's stories, it all depends on viewpoint.
Except your industry (Hollywood) dominated world for decades. Only recently thinks are changing. Turkish dramas industry is now second largest in the world. Ertugrul and Buyuk Seljuklu is much against your culture (they are about Crusades who are shown villians).
Hurrem was really smart how she became Muslim. Doing it this way, making it known that she does it for him a d their future, gave them another connection. Since he performed her conversion, he also took it upon himself to teach her the faith. I love the late episodes where she manages to comfort him using one of the stories he'd told her.
If it was known even among agas and other slaves that sultan was making that ring himself for a long time then no wonder she was upset. Women are not stupid, we can tell the difference between a precious gift from the heart and some "shut up" necklace given only out of duty.
Mahihadveran should have never brought up the ring to Suleiman she ruined a happy moment . Suleiman is growing more away from her whining attitude. . No wonder why he named Hurrem the joyful one
This is pure nonsense. Yes, he didn't have another favorite like her but kept sleeping with other women all the time. I feel like a lot of women are using this story to delude themselves about male nature.
Shá L Valide put poison in the cranberry sherbert. So that Mahiderevan lose her baby. That's her punishment for arranging, to steal the Emerald ring. Valide did not drink the sherbert watch the scene again.
soon enough Hurrem realises that Sultan does not want just pretty figures. She wants to win him with her intelligence and brains ad she succeeds ! he listens to everything she says !
In Sultan Suleiman's life, his ascension to the throne and the arrival of Hurram Sultan happened almost at the same time. And since then, Suleiman continued to climb the pinnacle of prosperity.I think it is also one of the most important reason behind the true love of Suleiman towards Hurram Sultan 💝👍😍
Of course historically we don't know all the details but I believe it is true Mahidevron did best up Hurrem and it only made things worse for her. The two actresses are excellent!
There was a report on the incident, but it was not contemporary. It would have been a juicy piece of gossip for the European sovereigns, but it was reported around thirty years after it supposedly happened.
Nilga kalfa very good woman i really love her character....with hurrem.all the last part she seem so bad but gradually she is the one arrange in a right away to everyone👍
Mahidevran is portrayed as such a fool! She focuses on what she doesn't have; the ring, instead of what she has ; a brand new necklace, a son and a pregnancy. Not to mention the sultan telling her how happy he is now she's carrying him another child. Instead she doesn't even crack a smile and asks for the emerald ring. I don't think the real Mahidevran was anything like this. She managed to keep her son alive for 38 years, despite Hurrem and Rustum's attempts to have him killed.
Hurrem is beginning to show her true colours. Not only does she want to control Suleiman she wants to be his ONLY woman and was jealous when she heard that M is with child. She even hoped that it would die. What a disgusting thought! Jesus, she comes across as being so materialistic. When she discovered her ring was missing she turned savage. It's scary to marry such a woman! Everyone knows that women get envious/jealous over petty stuff but both M and she put me off such petty females!
I've always liked Hurrem' character but now I like it more. I know she is not a good person, but her character is very complex and that is honestly amazing.

Mahihadveran turned green with envy when she saw Hurrem with that beautiful emerald ring . In real Ottoman history Suleiman was a masterful goldsmith . Its fitting the show is showing off his talents . The jewelry on this show are so beautiful if they are costume jewelry I'd wear them they look so real . Very very beautiful . 👑💍
Which Sultan will love her if her behaviour is like that! Sultan was so gracious and was happy to hear that Mahidevran is expecting, and came to see her and brought a gift too! But that woman is seething with jealousy. She deserves all the unhappiness she gets.
some disagree when people say Hurrem is alone fighting her life to survive in the harrem. Well, obviously yes. (IN THE EARLY EPISODES) As you can see, people in high position in the harrem like valide, hatice, gulfem, daye, ibrahim, sumbul and helpers HELP mahidevra. While hurrem was just taking nigar's advice wisely and found her way to sultan's heart. As the series progresses, she became matured. BUT using her head alone was not enough so she used people JUST LIKE THE VALIDE & SULTANAS.

This scene where Valide gives Mahihadveran something to drink after talking to Ibraham that he knows Mahihadveran had Hurrem ring stolen I truly believe it was for her to lose the baby . Notice Valide drank nothing but made sure Mahihadveran did .
I know this is a common theory but I think it's absolutely wrong. Valide loved her grandchildren and was quite happy when she heard Mahidevran was pregnant; it would have been so out of character for her to do something like that. The drink was just used as an excuse to get the ring back to Hurrem nothing more.

Yes! That the word. She felt so entitled that she kept insisting the ring was for her. And that hurrem stole it. So dumb 😄 she's obsessed now in this scene. She started everything. Hurrem just learned to fight and was lucky too the sultan is in loved with her..
I cant help but put myself in the shoes of all the concubines and try and think of how I might have lived life in the Harem , id like to think I would have enjoyed an education and rather than try to fight and maintain status as a sultan or ‘ favourite ‘ I would have focused on education, lots of ladies who left the Harem ended up making good money with their embroidery skills, plus you were also often married off in advantageous marriages anyway Hurrems love for the sultan is beautiful , but I would not have the energy to do day after day what she does in this series to keep her spot next to him , talk about exhausting !
Some concubines like Afife Kadin (of Mehmet IV, son of Turhan Sultan) were the Sultan concubine but also their friends or friends. Afife was better know for being a great poetress than her kadin. I think that could be the best way of life possible for you were already in the Sultan's favor.
@@Lee-ns3if it depended , harem girls could be freed or married off , specially if they werent of use to the sultan or turned into servants and left just to hang around and keep getting educated. if a woman is outshined by another woman.. she simply didn't give what her man needed. if a woman is disrespected repeatedly and sees the end she shall stop begging, shall put her head up and fight her fate, to free herself and find a new source of happiness, otherwise she poisons herself, she destroys herself, she suffocates herself. hyrrem knew what she did not want, therefore she fought for what she did want. She fought herself free, to be the leader and not a slave of her life. she used her own enemy to grow bigger than her situation. She was not celebrating just her being with sultan. she was always figuring out the next step.. always climbing up. and you can enjoy working your way to your goal. also thats an example why sharing women will never work if you want to have a family... child repeats her parents.. if he spends over half of his time with his mother, he is repeating his mothers attitude... but if his mother is miserable... not much good will come out of it. and i see why she is miserable.. its very understandable. its just dont work like this. you cant be a slave for a man and "his only wife" at the same time. (She might have not been a slave like hurrem, but she was a slave for him...in a sense) first you have to stop being his slave.. because what holds you together should only be his love for you and not a tradition and not a son.
It’s reasonable for Mahedevran to be jealous ! She knows the drill though, she was never going to be Sultan’s only concubine. It’s reasonable for Mahedevran to be hurt, jealous, angry among other feelings when she sees the ring she coveted on the finger of her new rival. Mahedevran should have responded differently when Suleyman came to congratulate her on the pregnancy. She should have been grateful for the beautiful gifts she was given. She should have known better than to challenge Suleyman saying, “we do not know how to share”.. then stealing the ring... man She messed up. Having said that.. I would like to think I would have felt all those feelings and reacted smarter..shrugs. I don’t know. Hurrem, lost everything .. she is given advice by Nigar.. takes it.. finds herself attracted to Suleyman and goes for it! I would have done the same in her place. Then, she is told Mahedevran is pregnant.. actually Ayshe was very nasty about how she told her.. she was 15 and responded accordingly however and this is an inkling on how she will respond in the future.. Mahedevran faints and screams bloody murder when she sees the ring Suleyman gave her.. realizes it’s a point she can take advantage of and goes for it. No one is evil yet. Both in a way are hurt. Mahedevran had the upper hand and threw it away .... Hurrem took advantage..
Actualy I choose to believe that mahi must have done something to enrage the sultan because it is a common fact that he stoped seeing Mahi even before Hürrem had her son Mehmed

Nigar is the one who is the mentor of hurrem she listen to nigar advice and smart to knows how to get the sultan attention and love.
Watching mahidevran and the reaction to the ring and everything after I can only think of how it seems she truly did only ever love the position and not the man. Hurrem took everything given with grace and showed interest in his jewelry but never reacted this poorly, especially never around her kids. Hurrem tried to internalize her pain (in the series) when Suleiman began to pull away from her whereas mahidevran ignores Mustafa for the most part and then uses him to try and gain sympathy from other and to regain favor with Suleiman.

The way Mahidveran behaved in front of her son was despicable... A true Sultana would've kept her cool and waited until the right time to strike!!! Her hatred and anger pushed Sulieman into Hurrems arms and cost her the lives of those she love most .
Truth
Mahidevran was always sad and with a frawn. How was Suleyman supposed to be happy with her? She was unwanted before coming to the big palace.
She should had focused on what she had obtained as a Sultana and the Mother of Prince Mustafa, keeping her grace and composture.

Hurrem definitely let mahidvren beat her up, she knew if she fought back she couldn’t play the victim as easily. That’s why she refused to get up. Brilliant move on her part actually.
Agreed. This doesn’t affect her besides the ass whooping 😂, this can only get worse for Mahidriven

Ouhh I see.. so if this situation happen to you. Are you sure you will still come. I’m bet you will crying over the night lol 😂
Perhaps, but not in front of the Sultan or my son, and certainly I wouldn’t use it to manipulate everyone and always look weak and the victim.
Exactly
I agree. Mahidevran is cloying and annoying. Hurrem is smiles, laughter, fun and pleasure. What man wouldn't choose Hurrem over Mahidevran?

Hurrem did what she did because she wanted to survive. She had to deal with the circumstances she's dealt with and she 'won' the game. She was a slave, stolen from her family, and sold into the harem, it's not like she applied for the position LOL.
I feel sad for people who are simply here for the harem drama and foolishly skipping the political scenes. From these scenes you would realize how clever and brilliant Ibrahim was and how much sultan valued his council.
Yeah... i could also read a Wikipedia page. I didn't skip the first time but those are truly filler scenes that Turkish soap opera is known for.
I actually skip the romantic scenes and watch the political and military scenes
Ибрагим меня не интересует, а вот будь про религию и политику было бы поинтереснее.Единственное костюмы тут хорошо, даже если не оригинал
Plot device.
I think it is actually because he loves Hurrem....it wouldnt be so bad if he didnt have feelings for her like in Gulfem case...
she's jealous with hurrem specially the ring that giving sultan to hurrem.
And 16 others
It's her Character flaw, Mahidevran always used her heart rather than her head, she's a bit like Cersie Lannister, in that she's not as smart as she thinks she is, she had potential but because of this she lost.
I couldn't help but notice how stupid and weak willed Mahidevran is. Instead of focusing on having a healthy child, she focused on the sadness from lacking lecherous Sultan's affection.
Hurrem also faced many issues but still She was so focused, determined and happy that she gave birth to so many kids. Never lose your focus. :D
Yes
I disagree with slandering Mahidevran who lost the ground beneath her feet, but it's true that you should never lose focus, even more so if you know you are an emotional woman.

Suleiman was so kind to that poor child; I think that was one of his best traits. His kindness.
Hurrem was really smart how she became Muslim. Doing it this way, making it known that she does it for him a d their future, gave them another connection. Since he performed her conversion, he also took it upon himself to teach her the faith. I love the late episodes where she manages to comfort him using one of the stories he'd told her.
I heard a fan theory that vailde punished mahidevran for her behavior by giving her an abortive agent in the sherbert
Mahidevran got a beautiful ruby necklace yet she’s still obsessing about the emerald ring.
If it was known even among agas and other slaves that sultan was making that ring himself for a long time then no wonder she was upset. Women are not stupid, we can tell the difference between a precious gift from the heart and some "shut up" necklace given only out of duty.
If she’d been smart she would have asked the sultan to make a ring like Hurrem’s with a ruby and diamonds to match her necklace!

Nigar is the one who is the mentor of hurrem she listen to nigar advice and smart to knows how to get the sultan attention and love.
I can't imagine what it would have been like to love someone whose word can literally never be questioned.
I hate that 🥴
I love how sweet the Sultan is with kids, and Ibrahim too
Sumbul: Tell me what is your pain in the neck.
Hurrem: I have no pain in the neck. I'm fine.
Hahaha. This innocent Hurrem draws my laughter out!!! 😂😂
I love hurrem’s and suleimans chemistry in this episode
