I just watched an interview with Jim Caviezel where he explained how none of the US studios would touch this movie. Now, there is an actor’s strike and no actors are allowed to go out and promote their American films….but Jim can because Hollywood turned them down. God’s timing is always perfect!

As a flight attendant, I urge everyone to go and support this movie! If you haven’t already, please do so. Tell your friends, your family, your neighbor. It infuriates me when the media says this is a non issue. What? I work in the hotbed of this crisis. We are trained to look out for things like this, bc it is a legit problem, and our government is concerned. It’s happening in our major cities right now. Not too long ago, a flight attendant helped uncover a MASSIVE child human trafficking ring. They’re lying to you. This is a real problem, and I wish it were only in Latin America. It’s happening here too.

@@anaml3879I think you are misunderstanding the sentiment behind that statement. The person making the statement did not mean that child trafficking is okay if it were in Latin America. They're using juxtaposing language. Here is an example of that, "If my cancer were just relegated to a small spot instead of being spread throughout my body, I could at least handle that.". It doesn't mean that they are okay with having cancer, it just means that the effect of it's damaging quality is largely mitigated and could be much more controlled. I hope this helps.
Speaking of the importance of the wife in the story, I saw in a interview with Ballard and Eduardo (the producer) that Caviezel’s wife was afraid of her husband shooting the movie in Colombia. Ballard convinced her by hiring 30 retired Navy SEALs to work on her husband’s security and, while they were shooting the movie, Ballard and these SEALs discovered and ended up busting another operation like the one they were fighting in the movie.
If it wasn’t for Jim’s wife resistance, this would’ve never happened. Unbelievable

Yes Producer Eduardo Verastegui revealed that he has been receiving death threats after the premiere of the film "Sound of Freedom." The 49-year-old Mexican artist revealed that, since then, he has had a great security team that accompanies him everywhere.
Fr Mike, I’ve been watching many interviews about this movie and it struck me because I’m from 🇭🇳 Honduras, the corrupt government institution mentioned in the movie is from this country. Adopting children is very difficult here. Days before the movie was launched in the US, the Catholic Community of my hometown went through a difficult moment. One little girl from one of the families of the Parish was kidnapped, the whole church joined on prayers and the kidnappers miraculously released her, thank God. This situation fills you with rage, we are supposed to be better, we live in better conditions than our ancestors. Most of the time we’re seen as just violent savage people but most of hondurans are good and believe in God. We want our beautiful country to be able to provide better opportunities for young and all generations. Pray for us please.

The catholic church is probably the largest abuser of children, from a single institution, in modern human history and that's the ones we know about. My wife and I have seen the movie twice and we did the pay it forward option. This is an absolute must movie for people to see versus the Hollywood garbage out there.

I teach in a year round school. Our first day back from summer break was Monday.
As an “ice breaker” I ask the students several questions. One being “what is one problem in the world you would wish to solve”? In every class, students brought up human trafficking citing “Sound of Freedom.”
How old are your students? I am too scared of the emotional impact to see the movie myself, so I paid forward instead. But wonder how such a movie would impact young kids that watched.
@@leona1351 I teach High school students. From what we talked about in class the ones who had seen the film saw it through family or a church group. Many said they were brought to tears and I shared that I was as well. It led to a wonderful discussion.
What many in the classes were struck by (whether they had seen the film or not) was that slavery still exists.
I’ll also mention I teach in a public school, just want to add some context.

I'm Brooklyn, USA, born and bred in tough neighborhoods and naively thought I've seen it all and nothing can faze me until I saw 'Sound of Freedom' last week and still can't stop thinking about it. As I was seated looking at the screen and hearing this heart-wrenching movie. I was crying tears down my cheeks like a baby for those babies. God knows that our children are not for sale.
Another miracle during filming was that because Mrs Caviezel didn't want Jim to film in South America Tim promised her there would be 30 ex-seals for protection during filming. Then after awhile only half were on set for a few days. Turns open then stumbled upon trafficking and saved more children then. God works in wonderful ways!

I was very scare to watch the movie, and after my husband and I did, I am so glad I did. The movie is very well done and you won’t see graphic scenes; we all need to support this movie and its movement. All of us need to protect children!

This movie is becoming a "Movement." My sister was scared to see this movie too, until Father Mike said to go see it then she said I have to see it, so thank you for helping her to go with me to see it
When my son was about a year and a half old, he was almost kidnapped straight out of my hand in Chinatown in NYC!
I grabbed my baby and ran like crazy! Thankfully a police officer saw me, I told him what happened, he shouted "stop!" To the potential kidnapper, who ran away.
I don't know what happened, since I ran into my brother in law's photo studio.
Carry your children as long as possible, hold their hands as long as possible, NEVER EVER LET GO!!!
I went to see this movie by myself so I could hear everything, see everything and not be interrupted. This movie is meant to wake people up to the atrocities that are happening in our world right now and for a long time already. I hope people realize this is the truth of what's happening out there in the world. Everyone needs to step up and be mindful of what's happening around you. Don't just walk away and say it's none of my business. Do whatever you can to help any child and be a light in this world of darkness and terror. Save the children....

The producers didn't know if it was possible for Sound of Freedom to reach two million people. But it's reached millions more than that! More popular than movies with 10x the budget! It’s not only “history , still happening right this moment, Catholic Church and Jehovah’s Witness are at the top religious organizations with the most amount of cases of CSA, Jehovah’s Witness alone have more than 1000 cases never reported to authorities, what are they doing to prevent this to keep happening in their organization...? I love Father Mike! I was once lost in such grave sin and brought light into my life through the words and actions of Christ. I became Catholic due to part of him and knowing the the Truth. I grew up with a child molester. My mom did nothing and didn't believe anything I ever said. It fills me with such sadness that one isn't safe, sometimes not in your own home, from the people that are supposed to care for you. May this evil come to an end.

I wish I could go see it but I can’t handle sitting watching a movie that long without being able to take breaks, my father who would be coming with me is in to much pain to sit without breaks to walk around to ease the pain a bit. I hope they find a way to have it streamed for those that can’t make it to the movie theater, I would definitely pay to watch it as long as it’s not crazy expensive, I would if I could afford it though. I saw the movie Sound of Freedom, and it moved me to tears with shock and sadness. I came to this country at the age of 14 and was placed into the foster care system. I have had a successful military career and am now an educator. I feel it is my mission to fight for traditional marriage and family. Kids are vulnerable when raised in broken families and targeted by human trafficking. I thank God every day through the intercession of the Blessed Mother for saving my marriage 16 years ago in Medjugorje, having led a double life as a practicing Catholic leading a life of promiscuity. The left media does not like promoting this movie because it aligns with the woke agenda of destroying traditional marriage and family values at the expense of protecting innocent children. Thank you for your commentary. I never realized how bad things were until I saw this. It made me go back to my childhood when I was 7 years old at a bus stop with my friend 6 years old and a man in a red convertible stopped his car on the main road and asked us to come see a rubber band. Luckily for us my friend’s mother came out of the house and he left. I had to go through mug shots trying to identify this person. ( Mu uncle was a cop). I am now 73 years old and still can remember this event. I have been blessed that none of my children were snatched out of my yard. I can’t imagine these parents going through this. EVERYONE INCLUDING CHILDREN need to see this Movie. It will bring tears to your eyes and an awareness of what is happening in this world. I saw the movie last night. As a survivor of sexual abuse, I find it frustrating that there is little more I can do. I bought a bumper sticker and I paid it forward. Tim Ballard was blessed with the skills needed to rescue some children. I do not know how to put an end to this evil.

I am so glad you did this. I saw this movie this past Saturday. I became aware of the trafficking about 3 years ago. You are going to be disgusted about who is involved in it. Please be encouraged that our military is in an operation dealing with this. We still need America, and the world, to start standing up against it. God bless you all.
I think many of us know deep down inside WHO is involved w/ this evil & have felt helpless in doing anything about it. But as millions are rising up to unite against this evil it empowers us all to move forward & find solutions to act on.

Thank you Father for your heartfelt message and prayers. My cousin disappeared in 1982. Right after Johnny Gosch, and Eugene Martin all of Des Moines, Ia. All were paperboys of the Des Moines Register. None of them were found, although Johnny’s mom has said she has heard from him. My aunt has not. His bed remained empty forever after. The trauma & horror of losing a child to kidnapping is unspeakable. Please pray for my aunt, her sons, and the rest of my family. I know some day we will have all the answers. And I do know all involved will not be in Heaven. Thank you again for caring so deeply.

Thanks Father for the review. I was brought to tears watching this film with my wife. We are parents, and it was so difficult to see the father of the two children who were abducted realize they were gone. After watching this film, I went home and prayed a Rosary for the children who are missing in the world and continue to pray for them daily.
During the part of Tim inside the little girl’s cabin, I had to walk out for a few minutes- my heart was pounding!
It was heartbreaking, soul wrenching and simultaneously a great film.

My wife and I watched it opening day and were so moved. We have promoted it to everyone we know. Lately I’ve seen, happily I may add, people talking about having to wait a week or so to see the movie because the showtimes are sold out. Word of mouth is working!
This movie was heartfelt. I had tears rolling down my cheek throughout the movie. I hope this movie brings awareness worldwide. Just because I didnt bring a child into this World it is our duty to be watchful in our communities to be eyes to protect innocent children. I watched it and paid it forward. Protect our children. Our foster care system is horrible, and makes a lot of money for the county and state. Money hungry organizations move the children like a chess game to monetize the interests of their county and private foster agencies. Yes I experienced this first hand, sad and shocking. Say adoption and the child is moved and other sick tactics utilized. All about the $$$. Poor kids who age out and on the street. Prime targets
Thanks for bringing this up. Volunteers need to adopt only and refuse to provide foster care which is enabling this evil system. Babies are fostered indefinitely waiting for drug moms to rehabilitate. The system forces would-be adoptive parents to be foster parents. Meanwhile professional foster parents take dozens of newborn babies with no intention of ever adopting them. They move them to other foster homes when they get too old causing attachment issues and emotional trauma.
Innocent mothers with homeless situations or seeking help becomes a plot to get children. Bringing you to family court to judges they know removing children. Shelter system, Cps, Family Courts, Executive offices, children clinics, Foster care and where you meet the children for visits...along with workers these are the ones working together taking and in on removing children. Investigate and start there. That's how it all starts. And you just keep fighting. Especially when the judge forcing / threatening parents to sign parenting rights AWAY. ❤

It kind of reminded me of the story of the child returning the star fish back in the ocean. When someone came along and told the child it wouldn’t help as there were so many strewn all over the beach and he said well it matters to this one. It’s nothing compared to this true story but we all need to care about what’s happening to our children.

Thank you for emphasizing his wife's role in this. It seems like the film underplayed it for some reason. Tim has been very vocal about how she was the one who convinced him to step out of his fear and rescue those children.
I definitely see your point and am so grateful for Fr. Mike's pointing out the feminine genius. But, I actually saw a review that pointed out the genius of how they executed this movie as a very male centric film. Because her lines were brief as was her role, it made her role stand out in a way. It wasn't missed by anyone. But they also chose to focus on the action of the men in this story, very much told from a man's perspective. In a time when men are being degraded and attacked just as much as women, I personally see a lot of power in their choice to make this a very masculine movie. Just my personal thoughts! I also think it shows the humility of each individual in this story. Tim's wife would not wish for her character to have more screen time or claim to be the hero. Tim and Jim both point to the children as being the heroes. The incredible amount of humility from these individuals is also a very powerful statement that we don't see much of in the public eye.
In all fairness, it was a story about him . He was the one who rescued the children . She just encouraged him .

The real Tim Ballard tells the story over and over again of how he would not have done the rescue op if not for his wife. He wanted her to tell him to come home but instead she told him "I will not allow you to jeopardize my salvation by turning your back on those kids."

They still could have made the wife's lines stronger and truer to real life. Lord, we pray for their protection. Shield them from those who seek to exploit and harm them. Surround them with your angels, providing them with strength and courage to endure their circumstances.
We ask for justice, Father. May those responsible for engaging in child trafficking be exposed and brought to justice. Open the eyes of authorities, enabling them to rescue and restore these precious children to safety.
Lord, we pray for the healing and restoration of those who have suffered from child trafficking. Heal their physical, emotional, and spiritual wounds. Comfort them in their pain and bring them hope for a better future.

Glad you are commenting on the movie! It was phenomenal. I’ve been on many international mission trips to very dangerous places. When I returned barely anyone was interested in hearing about the kids! Was confronted with the reality of child sec trafficking. I’m single, living under a private concentration to Jesus, would give my life for the beautiful kids I met. Sadly when this movie came out in Canada I spread the word to friends, many friends…. Barely a response! It’s like they just don’t care. Seems only when people like you speak up, it becomes credible…. So I’m thankful you are talking about it and other famous RUclipsrs as well. Maybe some of the folks I invited to go will hear you and think “yeah, I should support this movie.”

I watched this movie and I end up crying. It’s a great movie with a lot of information not to trust a stranger. Do not leave your kids to the hands of a strangers. Do not let your children play outside without your supervision. Tell your children to be brave and don’t listen to their threats. If it’s time for you to die, you will die even in your sleep. No guts no glory! If you find a window of opportunity grab it. Like you see a police officer, scream and ask for help. Your agony will not end if you are so scared to do something. They use scary tactics to own you forever. Learn the hand gestures or signs for help.

I watched this movie a few weeks ago; and honestly, the first 10 minutes in, I felt physically sick. The subject matter in this movie is very tough to take in, but it is also necessary to address, because human trafficking is definitely a subject that is underplayed. Highly recommend it.

I have watched it twice already. Everyone needs to go watch this movie and tell all your friends to go watch it too! In the end credits, Jim Caviezel said the movie was made 5 years ago and the studios have been blocking it all this time. This trafficking has been happening in the darkness for too long. It is time for the truth to be revealed and for this evil to come to an end.
I went to the movie twice too. I would like to know how to recognize the children to try to give them help. Try to bring it to the authorities if needed but I would like to recognize their cries for help. Are they being brought in the stores but people think the kids are with their parents? We don't know. I still am worried about a little boy I saw in the grocery store than the woman that was with him said to stay close to her or someone might steal him. A mother wouldn't say things that way.
