The Rosa luxenburg thing makes me so angry. She was an incredible person but because she’s antifa she was a “bad Jew”
Well, yeah. Standard take from the Pro-Fa folks.
For the love of god, please don’t call her Antifa ffs 🤦♂️ it’s like me calling Nelson Mandela “BLM”. It just doesn’t fit.

Zionism has nothing to do with a Jewish religious philosophy. It’s a European colonizer philosophy customized for European Jews to be able to claim land in Palestine where most of their ancestors had never even stepped foot. These Zionists white Jews have less than 50% of their DNA can be tracked to the actual region that they are calling their homeland. Well if less than 50% of you is actually from there than obviously its not your home.
It’s not about telling them they aren’t real Jews it’s pointing out their hypocrisy that simply because they are Jews they should be allowed to do to the Palestinians what the Nazi’s tried to do to them, which was to ethnically cleanse them out of their state and have a pure race society. Just Replace Aryan race with Jewish race and it’s basically the same philosophy. One thought they were the master race the other thinks they are God’s chosen people.

But isn’t Christianity just a ripoff of numerous religions, esp the Judaic Torah?
I could see that. Anti-Judaism was pretty ingrained in christianity early on, since christianity took in a lot of gentiles and was seen with a lot of skepticism by traditional jews. This rhetorical strategy unironically dates to the beginning of Zionism; when Balfour said that he hadn't met any Jews who advocated for the establishment of a Jewish ethnostate in Palestine, Weizmann (one of the leaders of the Palestine-specific political Zionist movement, as opposed to the Palestine-centered but apolitical cultural Zionism of Ha'am or the political but location-blind Zionism of Herzl) literally told him that he'd thus far met "the wrong kind of Jews."

So, some Jews do believe in hell due to Christian influence, but what is “hell” is essentially a place of extreme hardship one must endure for a period of time in order to cleanse their soul. The only people that will end up going to Gehenna for the most part will be Jews as we are the ones that have made the covenant. If we don’t do teshuvah before we die then we go there. Sheol is the place everyone goes and it is a holding period until you either merge with G-d or are reincarnated. Some people believe it is a holding place until the messianic age.

"All lives matter!" - Rosa Luxemburg
The text of of religious books are designed to be used by people who want to achieve political goals
I would LOVE to hear Vaush talk to Sam Harris about the topics in this video.
I think "Hell" in the Bible (Old and new Testament) is never really talking about "Hell" in the sense of like a fiery pit in the underworld with devils and such... That concept of Hell comes about from like, "Dante's Inferno" far later... Usually "Hell" in the Bible is meant to refer to Hades, Gehenna, (maybe Tartarus too?) or like other afterlife places that other religions existing around early Judaism/Christianity believed in... That or it is referring to literally this valley in the Middle East known as Gehenna or whatever which was constantly on fire because of people going there to burn garbage and such... Hell is not really mentioned much at all in the Bible even, but yeah, when it is mentioned it's basically always referring to something that isn't the modern idea of Hell, rather some other afterlife that Christians and Jews today refuse to acknowledge as existing because that's like... Paganism stuff... And so they just translate it from the earliest texts to be "Hell" so that it works with their religion...
I feel like there's a dissonance between early Christianity/Judaism and modern versions on how they view things like that... Like I think in the earlier days of the religions they'd have stuff like the Ten Commandments where it talks about how "Thou shalt have no other gods before me" which feels less like it's saying that other gods don't exist so much as it is suggesting that you shouldn't put any of those other gods before God (or Yahweh)... Then with Jewish mythology you have Lilith and it's a bit weird how she relates to like Eve from Genesis... I mean like, for one thing 'Lilith' kinda comes from the Mesopotamian 'Lilitu' which is like a vampire monster which is interesting... But then also like, I think there was at one point where religious people tried to figure out how they had two stories of 'Eve' that seemed to have a ton of contradictions with how they each acted and like at this religious counsel iirc they basically concluded that they were actually not the same 'Eve' and that Adam just had this previous lover... It was like, something they needed to rlly sort out the canon on...
And that's another funny thing is the canon, because there's other parts of what could've been in the Bible that just weren't considered 'canon' and are instead 'apocrypha'... This includes a part where I think Jesus tames some dragons... Fortunately dragons still made it into the Biblical canon with Saint George slaying one...
Also I feel like given that early Christians got their big moment in like the Roman Empire which was fine with homosexuality, early Christians I don't think were that opposed to it... And that might be why you have some homosexual themes among certain saints who seemed to be fairly romantic, but instead Christians will act like they just had a really intense brotherly yet platonic love that was not homosexual...
I feel like a lot of Christianity though like... It's important to understand that Christianity wasn't always the big religion of the day in Europe or anywhere really... It needed to spread from the time when Jesus had a somewhat small following and then got executed and during this time it was just one of a million tiny cults with some bigshot cult leader figure... These people were all over the place back in the day...
Elagabalus (the Roman Emperor people will claim was 'trans', kinda debatable, wouldn't say with certainty one way or the other especially since it could just be propaganda written of him) was literally a cult leader... Sort of charismatic and charming for a boy, but also very psychotic and obviously not particularly mature... I think he became the Emperor of Rome because of this one woman who had a ton of influence to be the sort of 'kingmaker' of the next Roman emperor and as it turned out she was part of a cult... So what did she think? That her cult leader would make a great emperor! So with the previous emperor executed that is who they went with... He then attempted to introduce his own Sun deity, Elagabal, to the Roman pantheon... (Also he did a ton of crazy shit like marrying a ton of women including a Vestal Virgin which is really fucked up to the Romans... Vestal Virgins are not to have sex, or else they get punished by being buried alive... After Elagabalus pissed off too many people by doing stuff like catapulting vipers into crowds for amusement, no idea what happened to the Vestal Virgin he marred but if I had to guess it probably wasn't good (which is also kinda fucked up since like, the Roman Emperor who is batshit crazy comes looking to marry you, are you going to reject him? I wouldn't, dude might kill me, but as a Vestal Virgin I'd also be worried about being buried alive for accepting should something bad happen with him... Rough situation...))
Reminds me of how during WWII, & surrounding time frame, the “German Jews” were considered high class, whereas those in other countries weren’t considered as such and were “beneath” them.
they believe themselves to be the chosen people. never trust a religious person.
So does everyone.
There's something incredibly toxic and antisemitic about making the generalization that all Zionist Jews hate all non-Zionist Jews. The fact that you aren't Jewish and that you claim to put facts over feelings makes this worse. It's weird how the "anti-zionism isn't antisemitism" people go ou t of their way to make antisemitic generalizations
I guess I’m not Jewish lmao
Define "Jewish" at this point.
Is it following the traditions of Moses?
Is it having the blood of Israel?
Is it having a Yiddish-german name, genital mutilation, a New England accent and celebrating Christmas with a candlestick?
It's just bullshit from another Ayatollah to get you to bomb his enemies.
I feel like Vaush isn’t really being fair here. The article he’s reading is specifically talking about Jews who say things like “the act of killing 1,400 Jews was consistent with the ‘Palestinian right to resist’”, and suggesting that these Jews should be excluded. The only heading in main body of the article is “Pro-Hamas Jews can’t be part of us”.
Whether you agree with this position or not, it’s a far cry from Vaush’s statements of “your membership … is contingent on you being politically aligned with Israel in every way” or “unless you are fully on board with our genocide of the Palastinian people you are excommunicated from this religion”.
The article even quotes the same person as saying:
“To be very clear, I am not talking about American Jews who have expressed sympathy for Palestinians or have criticized Israeli policies. I am also sympathetic. I have also been critical.”
In other words, the author is suggesting that to be strongly anti-Israel to the point of celebrating the killing of Jews in the name of the destuction of Israel is enough to exclude them. Once again, you can agree or disagree with this perspective, but let’s not strawman it. The video skips over these sections (see the cuts at 8:48 and 10:50). I for one would have liked to see Vaush’s reaction to the entire article, not just the paragraphs he (or the editor) thought were the most objectionable.
It’s actually similar to arguments Vaush has made in the past about using non-democractic means to exclude people who are anti-democracy (e.g. fascists) from political power. He says that people running on an anti-democractic platform shouldn’t be allowed to seize power through democratic means. Similarly, Israel could be set up with the intention of being a safe place for the world’s Jews, but that doesn’t mean they should have to include Jews that are fundamentally opposed to this goal.
I would agree. Partially at least. But I believe you're giving the article too much good faith. In the category of Jews that should no longer be Jews, the article lists "American Jews who call Israeli's Nazi's and accuse them of acts of genocide..." So, essentially, if you accuse Israeli's of genocide, a credible accusation, you're no longer Jewish. The article isn't as innocent as you're making it out to be.
thanks for this video! Sharing it with one of my friends who is Jewish but fervently pro-Palestine

I think all the talk about Nazis being Christians goes hand in hand with the whole “bad jew” or the talk about Trump not being one but using it. To truly be one involves a heart change rather than a claim. The amount of Christians in the world that are actually Christians is astronomically low. Growing up in the south, everyone seems to use it but not live it.
You have a lot of good takes, even about religion, and even specifically religion in America, but religion is clearly not your jam, which is fine, nobody can know everything about everything, so why not talk to an actual Jewish person about what is a normal or uncontroversial interpretation of religious texts rather than you googling it and giving your hot take. I'm not Jewish, but I know Maimonides is a pretty historically mainstream, also as far as I know a lot of kosher rules also serve to set the Jewish people apart, being "in" in the "in-group" doesn't seem to be a ridiculous Jewish take. How that religious principle might be being employed by those who want to support the state of Isreal is it's own thing, but to dismiss the idea that there are ways for people to not adequately maintain a relationship with their religious community sounds a lot like you want to dictate what is a valid religious tenant and what isn't.

I have a basic understanding of the jewish faith from classes on faith and religion from a historical view. So im probably not the best person to ask but I still think I have more knowledge than most. The concept of hell also comes from specifically Catholicism and technically isn't part of any other branch of Christianity or even other Abrahamic faiths like Islam though many other secs of Christianity have since adopted it like Protestants. But also I just want to be clear just use what I have to say as a jumping off point for your own research because I do not think I have nearly enough of an understanding on the Abrahamic faiths to have any authority over anyone except the average Christian because in my experience most Christians don't know anything about their own religion lol. @@synchronium24 Huh.
I always thought "secular jews" were "ethnic jews" (ethnic being an inaccurate word but a damn sight better than 'racial') who didn't follow Judaism.

I mean of leaders that acted against their own interests for religious reasons uh...Ivan the terrible maybe? But he was also insane. Richard the Lionheart possibly.
Would you call a Christian who doesn’t make their whole personality about some Christian place not Christian?
Ah yes, Ben Shapiro being the pope of the Jews again.
I appreciate this segment and clarification on judeo Christian facism

Ah yes HELL the place you go for about a year at most and get Saturdays off 4:15

A safe place except for Ethiopian Jews and Arab Jews. Bibi Netanyahu is what Ben Shabibo described. The usual hypocritical nonsense from Facsists.
10:41 - 10:51 LMAO. Gotta love that "really" delivery.
Bro doesn’t even know what “klal Yisrael” means and thinks he should talk on this subject? This is the arrogance of the modern American SJW
Great but lacking retort is just contrarianism.
I think Ben misspelled another Kla word.

Fascist...exactly
Well from the nationalist- exceptionalist perspective it makes perfect sense; - If Jews are the chosen nation, doesn't it make caring about them the same as other groups something radically Un-Jewy ?
Weird how everybody is "God chosen" and gods plans always align with theirs.
Equality is oppression to (and of) the tyrant.
wait... die rosa Luxemburg just say that "all lives matter"?
(/j, ik that theres a difference between the context)
6:32 this shit is indistinguishable from hotep rhetoric or is also (less) similar to the talking points of far right Muslim extremist leaders of the past and present.
wild for so much ignorance to be this displayed on so many topics
5:56 was a great point and an example of Vaush (and all liberals) of applying collective blame selectively. Also, 6:11 was exactly right.
So its apperently fine to use tokenism when its for this cause huh???
6:12 Catholic was not Nazis, the Nazis disliked the catholic church
Most n@zis started off as Catholic or some other denomination of Christianity. This is not incorrect. Where do you think a lot of their dormant antisemitism came from when H!tler tapped into it? It's just that mustache man was working to replace his followers' Christian faith with German paganism that pushed their master race bs
Rat Lines
Everyone was religious 1918. To say Nazis wasn't religious catholics is stupid. Maybe Hitler and some others in power(people in power is not often religious really they use it for power) but all of the germans people was.
There's a reason Himmler did his bonfire Opera bullshit in a castle on a hill.
"All lives matter" - Rosa Luxemburg, probably.
Shapiro isn't even practicing Judaism himself. Yet he claims to be the perfect Jew. Very interesting.

Why is Zionism bad ?
It's a supremacist ideology.
7:39 - 8:48 Very telling how Vaush quite simply explains Shapiro's connection to the right-wing (except the "living under the Christian hegemon" part since the jews want to establish the exact opposite), but is suspiciously silent on explaining that the same is true of Zelensky. It just shows his anti-Russian inclination as that's the only reason why he doesn't apply the same scrutiny.

It's still WSLunacy
Damn, I got my Jew card revoked.
"As one Jewish woman on the left writing about Rosa, another Jewish woman on the left, I found a quote by her in response to a novel on Spinoza particularly resonant. The book had been sent to her by her friend Mathilde Wurm in 1917, who asked:“what do you want with this theme of the “special suffering of the Jews?” Rosa replied, “I am just as much concerned with the poor victims on the rubber plantations of Putumayo, the black people in Africa with whose corpses the Europeans play catch . . . I have no special place in my heart for the [Jewish] ghetto. I feel at home in the entire world wherever there are clouds and birds and human tears.” Rosa was proud of her Jewish roots. She was also, as Hannah Arendt noted, self-consciously a woman. However, she understood viscerally that solidarity emerges from the ability to think beyond your specific position in the world and the oppressions that implicate you directly."
Where is this from?
'Rosa was proud of her Jewish roots.' Her parents didn't consider themselves to be Jewish by nationality, rather 'Poles of the Mosaic persuasion'. For her religion wasn't that important. Her Jewish background had an impact on her, but to say she was proud of her Jewish roots is an overstatement. She wrote disparagingly (in private) about Jews (at least orthodox and unassimilated).

As a German, thank you for talking about Rosa Luxemburg. Our history isnt entirely one-sided.
Nobody believes it is. Well maybe some people do but they're dumb. Germany rocks. 🇩🇪 (I am not German🏴). It is my second favourite country in the world (there is no place like home.. but the more time I spend in Germany the more I question this) 😅
Don't forget about Karl Marx too.
Isn't Rosa Luxemburg Polish?
@@wodekw6862 she was born in modern day Poland. She was a naturalised German citizen. She is inextricably connected to Germany's history

Being an anti-zionist jew myself, some of the worst antisemitism I've ever seen or experienced was from hardline zionists. I've had people say I'm "in support of a second holocaust" and "would've been a k*po in the camps" all for saying that maybe it's a bad idea to support an ethnic cleansing by a far right ethnostate.
1) they're right
2) not an ethnostate
that sucks man, hope you're doing well ❤
