    I took two screws, drilled the plastic and firmly adjusted the gap between the plastic and metal 😁 shouldn't be a problem any more 😁

    There's a lot of things that is a factor for how many problems your car will get.
    Driving on bad roads often, bad climate, salt on the roads, one problem that's not fixed for a long time that wears out other parts, and of course the driver.
    So before people judge a car only by it's brand or model they need to consider that some people don't take care of and serve their cars properly.
    I guess that's why people gets different opinion and experience about the same brand and model.

    you can buy new ones, ~7eur a piece comes with all new pins and two screws (per piece). I've replaced one already.

    Same issue here for my corsa c 2006. If you travel in fast speed for long time, it will definetly hit you. 6 times travelling around 140-160Km/h. Here I am watching how to fix already replaced wings.
    I simply do not get it. Whenever plastic is cooperating with metal, the failure is around the corner.
    Thank you for showing the hidden bolts.

    I have a 2003 Vauxhall Corsa SXI, which has a leak, which we cannot fix. We took it to a garage to have to break servo sealed, which is a common problem, but there is still a leak, which myself or my parents can find, leading to the passenger footwell being damp whenever it rains

    I've had 4 corsa c's of varying ages. those trim problems never happened to me, although I do see them missing on some corsas so i guess I've been lucky. three out of four of my corsas had the dreaded water going into the drivers side footwell from the brake servo which was a design flaw, that was my biggest problem i had with these cars.

    • @aldishurdha9495
      @aldishurdha9495 3 года назад

      I have water on drivers seat as well, it's been 3 days I am trying to find out how it goes in

    • @Highran56
      @Highran56 3 года назад

      @@aldishurdha9495 its going through the brake servo seals as they deteriorate over time. you're best using some silicone and going round the edge of the brake servo to make it watertight again. it also doesn't help when it rains water just sits in the windscreen scuttle drain and cant escape until you left the flap to drain the water...again due to bad design.

    It is actually rarely the plastic rod that causes the gear linkage to break. People just think it is the course for the simple reason it is made of plastic. I had the gear linkage fail on me (when the car was 18 years old), but it was one of the ball joints, not the plastic rod. Replacing the original linkage with an all metal piece found on E-Bay is a TERRIBLE solution - DON'T do that, the E-Bay garbage will not be a good fit, and afterwards the gears will most likely be hard to change, and stiff. Buy one from a mechaninc, he will most likely sell you an OEM one, with plastic rod - and that is what you want. Remember - people think it's the rod that is at fault - but it rarely is.

    • @benreid6144
      @benreid6144 4 года назад

      Neither, they all are going to need a rebuild between 70-130k miles if your lucky, the problems begin after 20k miles and usually its more conventional to scrap the car or engine swap

    • @GearGrinder1133

      I have a 1.2 petrol. It’s good in Low emission zones (ULEZ FREE) and it’s cheap to run. WAY cheaper to run than a 1.7. You also have to consider the cost of fuel, insurance for someone so young and fuel consumption. 1.7 DTI is a diesel and rates for that at the moment is ridiculously high. I think the 1.2 is actually a little faster by 1 second

      The piston rings could be gone which would result in an engine rebuild or swap, personally would walk away and scrap the car and buy something japanese
