    It makes me so pleased when I see people caring about the environment! ❤️

      @@Literallyjustmint Well, indeed, my immediate thought was that she said/did nothing about caring for the environment. She's making personal use of the environment.

    What is the purpose of the clove oil? I just made my first paints, I’m trying to learn more so my next batch is even better.

    If you add less liquid to the powder it would turn out better. I did the same thing. But it should be really thick paste like almost too thick feeling but it gets creamy and easier to mix as you go. Too much gum aravic will dilute it

      @@JoanneGreenArt I've been making my paint by grinding stones and other minerals I find in my area, how does the yellow from the petals hold up over time ?

    • @JoanneGreenArt
      @JoanneGreenArt  8 месяцев назад +5

      @@Alucard33592 botanical pigments don’t hold up well (compared to mineral or rock pigments). They will fade over time. Each plant I use has a different rate of lightfastness. Sunflower yellow is probably quite delicate compared to others I’ve made. There are plant pigments that are very good. But I love making all of them!

      @@JoanneGreenArt same, and I'm glad I got into doing this when I did the prices of art supplies are starting to get a little crazy, the Holbein gouache I got a little while back for 60$ apparently sells for 100$ to 150$ now depending on where you look, glad I figured out how to make it myself
