I like a lot of different genres in metal and I was just introduced to this one. People say this is death metal but they're wrong. Yeah they might sound like it, but they don't sing about Satan or evil or anything like that. Actually they have a lot of very very interesting things to say. I'm an old metal guy and love this music, but can't get past the growly cookie monster vocals. Alissa is obviously very talented. I just wish she'd mix it up a bit and sing clean or Halford/Dickenson style. Hey, I said I'm old. Lol
She will for sure get more cleans in the songs, but also deeper growls. By going deeper it makes her "normal" AE sound clean almost 😁. She's doing some awesome Randy Blythe growls in "the race" and "as the pages burn" in 2018 shows and onwards. Sounds really nice. Hey, it works for me. 😁 AE🤘
she should use the non-growl voice more often. it would make this shit easier to listen to and make the growling more impactful. the way it is now, the growl is like chewing gum for too long
The lifeless look on the rest of the band while playing kinda reflects how lifeless this band has become... Black Earth band (original AE vocalist) is what Arch enemy once was and forgot how to be - itself. War Eternal was the nail in the coffin and Khaos legion mediocre at best...
