- This is a follow up video to my prefelt video. I will be using the prefelt as an accent on this vessel.
The entire process to make the vessel is about 3 hours. So this tutorial will be broken into 2 parts to keep it manageable.
Part 2 can be found here • Making a felt vessel w... - Хобби
I really found this very informative, thanks.
Those was very useful, thank you for the detailed layout
Thanks for watching to the end
Amazing work! Couple of questions for you. How long does this process take and how many bundles of fiber do you go through to make this vase? Thanks.
this vessel is about 6.5 oz. the felting process takes about 4 or 5 hours for something this big
instaBlaster.
where did you buy your base that you're working on? (bubbles)
Its solar pool cover.
I recomend going to a pool installer and ask for cut off sections.
It will last for years
Would a more coarse wool like corriedale or bergshaff help give more structure and would the merino prefelts work well on the coarser wool? Or would the coarse wool migrate too much through the prefelts?
I would do a test to see if the other wool migrates. I used to have that issue with alpaca working its way forward and creating a hazy look.
If tou want realy good structure use fin wool.
Butnits hard to get in colors like merino.
However, with enough agitation, I never had an issue with getting structure

Thanks very much. Not sure if you're saying fin wool, or fine wool? I want to put colored merino prefelts onto a black base but have had issues with coarser dark wool migrating thru the merino. I might need to make my prefelts a bit thicker like yours in the video.
