- Check out the GoolRC R/C Crawler Ripsaw Tank! We picked this up to see if it's compatible with GI Joe Classified as a HISS Tank. The performance of this 2.4Ghz high-speed drift tank is really great, though too small to fit a GI Joe Classified figure, though it works better with a 3 3/4" GI Joe A Real American Hero figure.
You can show your support for Fanboy Cantina with the latest merch available from Wistful on Amazon, such as this shirt here: www.amazon.com...

#GIJoe
Looks like it was made for 3 inch figures... overall looks like a great rc vehicle
It's perfect for my 3.75" gi joes.
if mattel made a warthog for their 6 in halo they'd be rich cause all of us classified collectors would be making them into vamps and stingers.I can't believe they haven't jumped on that yet...easy money.
There was a 7 inch scale warthog for MacFarlane Halo figures. Check E bay.
@@stevenboyd3756 I believe me I did it was out of my price range
articulated ninja did a really nice video showing how to mod the tank to fit 6" figures, about 10-15 minutes to make the mods but it works out
Yes, thats a good video. For me, it’s a fun 1/18 scale vehicle as is, but it can work for GI Joe Classified.
Damn we need 6 inch vehicles ughhhh
Vehicles are key to the ARAH line. Classified has the Baroness and Breaker cycles, but that’s just scratching the surface of the potential.
I wonder if this could be reworked into a hiss tank?
That’s definitely what I had in mind. It could be a lot of fun for a 3 3/4” action figure, but would require hollowing out for GI Joe Classified.
It also converts to a fairly tolerable modernized Wolverine, if you mount a pair of missile pods in the back. They also make a white one for the Arctic. Modifying it to work for GI Joe Classified is 10 minutes work if you have a Dremel tool. Flip it over and unscrew the battery hatch. There are two sections in the molded top of the battery compartment that are the floor of the cab. Cut them out. This gives the figures enough leg room. Plus it still seals up black as it’s inside the battery compartment.
The Wolverine is brilliant. That’s a personal favorite.
I think with some modification it could be made into a single-seat 1/12 vehicle. It could be really good for a custom job in the right hands.
Absolutely. Articulated Ninja has a video where he did the 1/12 conversion. For me, I like it as-is.
Yeah, it does not look like 1:12 scale at all. It does have an Interesting design.
Most of all, it’s a fun toy. My first R/C as a little kid was from Radio Shack and it could only go straight and turn while in reverse. This is a Cadillac by comparison.
In fact the vehicle is in the right proportion, it's just the interior that is not in the right size, I think.
After that I'll see personally because I ordered one to make a custom crawler with accessories in 1/12 scale so I'll see if it's really in 1/12 scale.
But I still have big doubts, if your figure is really 1/12, it should be at the same height as the ripsaw, but I don't think it's the case.
Good review by the way.
Good review. That's a nice RC vehicle. For some reason the company mislabled the scale. That's really for 1/18 figures.
You can try the old Halo Warthog from Mcfarlane toys, though.
I just got 2 arctic bats and a white version the ripsaw but they too big.
Yeah, the only way would be to dismantle it and remove the interior.
@FanboyCantina which I actually did last night. LoL, but, aww man, you gotta feast your eyes on the fms H1 in black it is true scale down to the interior and the bells and whistles. I'm starting to sound like Sir Patrick Stewart in Ted when he's going on about the Apache helicopter. 😂😂😂
It actually does fit in there. I’ve seen a few videos showing it. You just have to fold the arms a certain way.
When it comes to vehicles for 6" figures, I typically go with what's labeled as a 1/10 scale or something intended for larger figures. A few years ago, I got some 1/10 scale convertibles and Lamborghinis RC vehicles from Burlington coat factory that were in the $25-$35 range. Other than that, 1/12 scale ATVs can sometimes work, even if they have a fixed figure in the seated position on it, as they can typically be removed with relative ease.
This is super helpful. Makes a lot of sense. I’m learning quite a bit about scale and what can work. Not gonna lie, I was pretty disappointed at first with this, but it’s still a fun toy.
@@FanboyCantina I saw a vid within the last week talking about the potentially "best" gi joe classifieds scaled jeep ever. It ended up being a 1/10 scale RC jeep being sold on Amazon for ~$68. The review illustrated various displays using those figures and even customized one by painting it black and supergluing some weapons on it for cobra figures' use. They had links in the description to the item being sold on Amazon and eBay.
@@lareh5501 ah! Articulated Ninja! We’ve been watching the same videos. Yeah that looked really good.
I've always opted for 2 figures, 1 standard then the other chopped off at the knee for seating in the vehicle, most have been Batman related so the guy with no knees gets his cape chopped too, enough fabric to see he's sat on something but not enough to get in the way, I love this Buzzsaw but it's a toss up for me between this and Mattel's The Batman B-mobile
They do look good with the classified JOE’s , I just wish at least one figure could fit in side of it .... still in all it’s not bad at all👍
Looks a lot better than any junk Hasbro would come up with
The fms hummer is a dream for classified g.i. joe figs
Looks amazing. I can’t stomach that price point at the moment.
@@FanboyCantina I totally understand. But worth saving up for.
Thanks for the review. I've been looking for vehicles to scale the classified Joe's
Great video! I love the nature where you were test running it. Beautiful!!
Thank you! Outdoors makes it all the more fun!
I bought this in white, for Star Wars 6 inch storm troopers, was easy to cut the plastic away from the dash to make leg room . Then removed gull wing doors and attached them to the roll bars with zip ties .
Perfect for Dark Source 1/25
It might work well with Hexagear character kits and maybe also Desktop Army figures.
yayyyyyyyyyy! finally!!!!!!!!!!! an RC review that scales a figure.
have you found a RC item that scales well with Classified?
thanks so much for the video most don't scale figures.
Thanks! No I haven’t found an r/c in the right size yet. I suspect it has to be more than 1/12 scale.
The concept is really cool
I bet if you modified the front end it could be a single person vehicle for classified figures from other videos i seen that it has plenty of open space on the front just needs different seats and a divider cut out.
Yes, with carving the interior and modifications, you probably could shove a GIJoe Classified figure in the cockpit. It might not be right, but close enough since the HISS is a single driver. I think it’s better for GIJoe ARAH. If it pops on sale on Amazon and someone’s willing to put the effort, it’d be cheaper than if Hasbro was to make a proper GI Joe Classified HISS Tank.
@@FanboyCantina besides cobra has a history of single seat vehicles there was even a little tank later in the line that looked similar to this. Edit: it was called the cobra treadfire.
@@FanboyCantina turns out it works but yeah you do have to cut out a bit of stuff and I reused some of interior parts to make a computer and controls.
very glad I didn't get that. I was looking at them on amazon then went to ebay and found more..I debated for a long while cause there were no reviews of it to see scale or anything..it looked like it was huge almost the size of the avalanche.. very deceptive. so thanks for taking the hit at least.
Awesome. Exactly the reason for the video. It’s still fun, just not big enough for what I wanted it for.
@@FanboyCantina Could you do some modding to the interior, maybe cut into some of what is in there to make room for a 6 inch figure or would that cut into the RC aspects of it?
Most of these RC vehicles people have been using they have had to do a fair amount of customizing to to accommodate their Classified Joe figs.
I think it could be possible, but potentially at the expense of the R/C mechanics inside. It’s under scaled, though passable, for a 1/12 vehicle, but really it fits a 1/18 figure better.
I saw this on Amazon and thought the same thing...thanks for making a video showing me!
I'm wondering how you did the slo mo? You should put a mini cam in front and have a driver side view.
Just used slo-mo video from my cell phone. It’s surprisingly effective.
