  • This montage aired at the launch of Game Show Network on December 1, 1994. Visible that day in only a few million homes, the channel grew to be one of the 40 most watched on cable at its peak. At various points in this 12 minutes, you'll see footage of nearly every show in GSN's library on launch day, as well as Peter Tomarken introduce the very first program to air on the channel, What's My Line

The funny thing about Tomarken introducing GSN's launch is that the show he hosted, Press Your Luck, wasn't on GSN at launch, but rather on the block of game shows on the USA Network. It wouldn't air on GSN until 2001, nine years after the launch of the channel.

When I was in school, I used to get laughed at because I would exitedly talk about how someone won $10,000 on some game show. The laughers can all shut up.

An increased reliance on recently-aired game shows has done GSN in during recent years. Buzzr has succeeded where GSN is failing its viewers currently.

@Harry Engel I like what you said about Game Show Network. I would like to see Game Show Network airing Wheel and Jeopardy from the 80s thru 2000s. Also partner with buzzr air freemantle shows like The Price Is Right, what's My Line, Beat The Clock and more. What do you think?

@Harry Engel I remember some of the original Game Show Network shows like "Inquisition ", "WinTuition" (hosted by Marc Summers) and the game show where contestants had stayed awake for 24 hours straight and would win money if they could answer questions correctly.
And of course, Game Show Network's PATHETIC attempt at rebooting their version of #PressYourLuck, known as "Whammy: The All-new 'Press Your Luck" without Peter Tomarken hosting the show and replacing him with a young man named Todd Newton. (Although Peter did host the pilot episode of "Whamny )

@Fries great but what got me watching was when gsn live happened. I won on there before it was great and still had a lot of old game shows during that time. It was around 2008 I really got into the show
