Best sports program of all time. Once Disney destroyed ABC, and NBC destroyed the Olympics and continues to do so because they can't go more than 5 minutes without politicizing everything. The Golden era of sports.. McKay, Cosell, Michaels, Gifford. Never see that again.
Watched Jim mccay since 1960. This guy could make barrel jumping very interesting Wide world of sports for 30 years. Ruled at Munich in 1972. Didn’t sleep. RIP MY IDOL 🌹👍🏻👍🏻
I first heard and saw Mr. McKay way back in the late 1950s ,in the courtroom TV series, the verdict is yours , a youngster I was at that time I never forgot the name and the voice when moved on to wide world of sports, before there were a Gowdy, a Costa and etc.,it was Jim McKay. I will never forget his comment "they are all gone ".A legend when I never knew the meaning of the word.
The best
People of today’s generation have no idea how good was Jim McKay.
Him saying the infamous 3 words "They're all gone" was probably the hardest words he ever said on television.
The standard by which all others are and will be measured.
100%

I’m watching the closing in Tokyo in 2021. Jim McKay set a standard for all his successors to try for.
Very impressed with Jim's golf swing. On an uphill lie even.
Jim McKay was by far...the standard of sports journalism. Will always be remembered.

Jim McKay's finest hour. When he said "They're all gone."
worst/finest :/
He was hands down "Mr Olympics"!!!
ESPN should televise the Sports Emmy Awards and name the Lifetime Achievement Award in honor of Jim McKay.
Fantastic Idea !

"They're all gone."
I wasn't alive when the Munich Massacre occurred, but those words send shivers down my spine.
@vitoduval I remembered watching it at the Howard Johnson's in Urbana Illinois.
Problem: I have AIDS.
