I had an 80/1 winner at royal ascot this year, the Coventry stakes with Rashabar….ive got no problem with backing big price horses, only thing is, I only did £10 each way, instead of doing what I wanted to do : £50 each way… you do the maths.
I don't think he actually just picked it because of the name, he has a good enough knowledge of the racing markets and probably had some inside info from those in the know, he couldn't really say such and such a jockey or trainer told me this had a good chance of winning, if you listen closely at the start you an hear the bookmaker saying here is another one and his mate saying I told you that, so it means some one else had a good punt on the horse aswell.
