I have been using anchovies specifically the past couple seasons from Washington to Alaska and I can say without a doubt they catch bigger chinook. Haha... yeah my poor dad. Drag him along and shout orders at him all day. Now that I'm a dad I get what I deserve from the kids as karma. Yeah that is what I find as well... anchovies or herring really do get those bigger fish.

I think you're one of the most faithful viewers. Glad you like the videos. The Black Cod, also called Sablefish... was EXCELLENT. We filleted it and ate the whole thing fresh. We just baked it with salt and pepper. No butter or oil at all. The fish is so moist an buttery. The flavor is mild. It seriously tastes like you are eating butter in my opinion. My parents didn't really like it but my family and brother loved it!

I have about 12 channels I follow. and I like what you post. when I cool walleye, I cook it with flour and frys seasoning salt. put that unto a bag, and shack the fish. no egg, no binder. light coating. I fry in butter. people say it tastes like butter, which the kids and I love, lol
@@JustinHallowesOutdoors haha well if you fry in butter it probably does... haha. But this fish tastes like butter with NO butter. Walleye is more firm than the Black Cod.

I usually just go out with my family privately, so I don't have any experience with guides in the area. There are many options though. I don't know any well enough to make solid recommendations. Hope you find a good one.
It's really good from June through September. They even start doing really well out there in May I believe. If you want the least restrictive limits then after July 31st. August is your best bet if you want big Chinook. The later it gets the more coho around.

Hey Doc, how long is your lead after flasher ?
Depends on what I use... hootchie shorter like 24 to 36 inches, spoons about 5 feet, herring about 6 to 7 feet.
