Finally, a place to know every Touhou character. 9 main characters are already a lot for this TF2 nerd. 69 is a bit much, but this video will help. Edit: Watching this made me realize something; There's no Tomboyish fairy. Thus, I'm bumping that character list to 69 to include her.
I like this version a lot, but I have some healthy criticism I’d like to share. While this version makes some melodies more resonant and clear, there are some parts that feel more noisy than they need to be. (I know I’ll sound very nitpicky, but everything I’m about to say comes from a place of love and appreciation for this video, it’s a super unique and novel take on Bad Apple and I listen to it on repeat) For example, Elly’s section allocating the trumpet section to Perdition Crisis makes Bad Apple sound too subdued. Don’t get me wrong I appreciate it when over-utilized melodies are used in more subtle ways, but this sounds a bit forced. The Flower Land section to represent Yuuka feels worse this time around too, since the main melody is slightly altered. It was hard to recognize the song as Flower Land on my first listen. An identity of the song is taken away by altering the melody (I see the melody as the “character” of a song when it comes to Touhou). One thing I felt was a bit mid in both versions is the use of The Gensokyo the Gods Loved for Nitori’s section. I don’t understand why everybody associates the theme with her. It’s not a rule or precedent to associate every single stage theme with the boss that follows it. Sometimes a stage represents a character, like The Centennial Festival for Magical Girls (which for some reason is associated with Patchouli when it is obviously for Flandre). The context behind The Gensokyo the Gods Loved does not line up with Nitori’s character though. The worst offender of all of this extra noise is Alice Margatroid. I feel like it is unnecessary to not only use her associated stage theme on top of her boss theme but also her boss theme from PC-98. I personally would’ve only used Doll Judgement. You can’t really call that section “Alice Margatroid’s Theme” when you use three separate unconnected themes at once. Now, I REALLY like Yukari’s section and I appreciate it a lot, it just feels like it could’ve used more time in the oven. I really like what you were trying to go for, using Evening Star as the base to use Necrofantasia over, but it took me more than one listen to understand what I was hearing haha. I don’t want to be ALL criticism, even if this is healthy criticism, but I do want to reiterate that I LOVE this arrange. Both versions. The way you connected History of the Moon with Lunatic Princess by using Voyage 1969 as the backing track for both? Mwah. Direct upgrade from version 1. I expected Suwa Foughten Field together with Native Faith wouldn’t mesh well, but combining both work surprisingly well. I love V2’s rendition of Eternal Shrine Maiden and using Theme of Eastern Story to end both versions is a stroke of genius. I want you to keep working on music and improving your craft. You have the potential to make great arranges and original stuff in the future. You just have a natural sense that I feel is rough around the edges for now, but love effort and elbow grease should do the trick. Here’s to your future and our love for Touhou!
I loved your video about Treacherous Maiden~Judas Kiss. The midi version adds way more depth to Mai's theme and character, thx for making the video about it
As a Touhou fan, former BFDI fan (though I still like the series), there's a suprising amount of people fans of both series, more than I originally precieved.
what can i say about this... i mean. it's 10/10 fantastic, would include in my bad apple X character themes playlist. (also fuck yeah elly's real theme is used!!!)
I love the idea. The transitions between songs are fairly smooth but sometimes a bit jarring (EoSD and MoF especially). The lead is also lacking in power and depth, leaving the arrange pretty hollow. Implementing some reverb would go a long way.
1:17 that transition from Riverside View to Fate of Sixty Years was smooth asf
This feels like a finale where you have to endure every character’s attacks one by one during the collapse of something, like a gensokyo collapse.
Someone hated Youkai that much to expose Gensokyo to the world governments and call for an extermination. This is Gensokyo’s last stand.
Wait who would we play as, the gensokian’s or the world government?
(It could be either as both would give a different ending)
@@adrianbunda5495 Outsiders, no question.
But note how I didn’t say they were the good guys…
Perhaps a Touhou Boss Rush?
@@thelivingglitch1371 Is this suppose to be a KKHTA reference?

Nice. I like the PC-98 themes at the end
Yooo I saw one of your videos and that's how I got into touhou!

This is really imaginative
My favourite bit was the transition into Aya's theme. Also I loved the inclusion of Theme of Eastern Story.

This is more original than putting bad apple on Reddit lol
Finally.
I can learn who all the characters are.
9 is a lot for this TF2 nerd, so 68 characters is a bit much.
There are 35 characters in this Bad Apple MV, in total there are 150+ Touhou characters

The way you did the transitions on the Chen to Ran to The Bnuuy Gals™ is AMAZING
HIgan retour to fate of sixty years is so smooth woah
I kinda of like SiivaGunner's version of this (the sm64 soundfont one from april fools)
I would LOVE a full cover of Gensokyo, Past and Present!
with the beautiful transition preserved, the character of the themes became more powerful
I think the V1 still sounds nicer
THIS IS SO GREAT IM SO GLAD I DISCOVERED YOU
1:40 these parts with voyage 1969 just give me this weird unexplained feeling of sadness
YEAH V2 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This Is As Great As V1! Good Job!
this is the best bad apple medley ever (reason: zunpets)
When the Prismriver part came in! Wow!
I love everything, music with excellent transition and chromatic aberration effect ❤
I loved this!
This is so cool, I really want this version to catch on and become popular!!
Yoooo this is pretty good
During the PC-98 Reimu part, my mind for some reason switched to The Final Countdown by Europe.
this should be on spotify, it's so good (and so is v1)
you should make the full concert version like this
Most people don't know of it and many recreations are inaccurate
Plus I don't think reisen 2/rei'sen has a theme.
Banger glowup indeed.
It's like that sonic 2 credits scene where it plays a mix of every zone's theme.
I love this!! best Good Orange¡¡ remix
this one is just even better
Goes so hard

Because it didn't stop listening

I like it but the pitch is better on V1 imo.
