The algorithm randomly threw this video at me, and my decades-old Mage OCD won't let me leave without commenting on a couple of misplacements.
Ice Block C > A: you overlooked a huge portion of what makes Ice Block good as a survival and escape tool, which is its ability to clear all debuffs and block all damage. Snares, dots, hard CC etc., you can IB/Cancel to clear them and keep running. How many people have you seen die to that last Fireball from a Defias pillager right before it leashes? Ice Block prevents that, too.
Slow Fall F > C: as you point out, gravity is the true end-boss of HC, and while Mages have many ways to prevent fall damage, none match the reliability of Slow Fall. IB is on a long CD, and while Blink dodging fall damage is a nice backup, it's also inherently risky as a single poorly timed lag spike or fat finger ends your life.
Very true Ice Block clears all debuffs, including some nasty red ones other just have to do deal with. Very good point!
Great video, your wow veteran indeed 🔥
