If you're talking about the rational numbers here is how to do it: For example +2|3 - (-1|2 ) so now you don't care about the +2|3 you just look at the lil shit in between them you see - then after parenthesis opens you see another - just know that if you see a minus before parenthesis and another minus after parenthesis it means you need to put a plus and remove the parenthesis. So the minus 1|2 becomes plus 1|2 idk why but just remember that - ( - = + and + and + = + and then + and - = minus then - and + = -
