    Gourmet honey means premium quality honey.
    Bees create a honey with minimal intervention by a man using nectar that they gather from flowers from the area. The color and flavor of the honey vary depending on the source of nectar that the bees collect it from. This jar Honeycomb has been naturally produced in our backyard Hive by the bees.
    Mason jar beekeeping happens to be one of the latest inventions in beekeeping. It is well suited for small spaces and all that it takes is a little research and planning for one to begin. All beekeepers who reside in the city or anyone with a suburban backyard can now raise bees the Mason jar way.
    Mason jar beekeeping entails combining Mason jars with an existing hive. The jars are placed above the hive box supers.

    Your way is not bad especially for weight.

    Love the concept. I will be implementing in a few days. How do you ensure the queen doesn't go up and lay eggs in the super because there's no . I watched your other video where you break down the design but couldn't see anything to keep the queen out.

      There is not an specific time. All depend how dedicated are they to fill it up the jar.
      And also depend of the season and how much nectar is available. It can be 2 to 3 Months.

    • @straypurplecat
      @straypurplecat 2 года назад +3

      You can shake them out or just leave the jars open and next to the jar for a while and they'll mostly fly out in an hour or so--THEN shake out the rest gently.

      @@straypurplecat Gotcha.. So a bit of time and mild encouragement. I'm a bit surprised as I'm usually fighting off bees for any honey nearby, lol. I guess if they aren't in a panic, the honey's not considered lost yet. :)

    • @BravoAustralia

      After I unscrew it, i leave the jar outside for a little bit in the open air. They just leave the jar naturally and start working on other ones. :)

      @@BravoAustralia But why doesn't regular honey ferment? (Honey from the store.)

    • @M3rVsT4H
      @M3rVsT4H 2 года назад +2

      @@TheRainHarvester Basically the bee's brew honey. When it's finished fermenting to their satisfaction, they cap the cells, much like a brewer bottles beer at the optimum point of fermentation, to starve the process of air and create the finished product. So, you don't want to grab it early. Commercial honey is harvested in much the same way by professionals. But they pasteurize it to kill off any residual yeast, just to be sure. Some say for that reason it's not "real" honey.
