I have the same experience with these contour rolled sheet metal videos ... That is essencially a cone and should be a curved items yes ... Same principle with a knuckle radius cone... Really want some one to do this the right way but i dont think inventor is capable of that.
but the flat pattern should be a curved blank not rectangular as this one? how to flatten this one to a curved blank
