how the fuck does this channel only have 57k subs???? It has the BEST content of any comic book channel on RUclips. Since the beginning i figured comic pop would be the most popular of all twp channels. Well i know which channel i prefer.
It's between Comic Pop and Comics Explained for me but I think with Comic Pop only having this many subscribers is probably because there are already so many comic book RUclips's and the most popular ones are usually the ones with the most new comer friendly format. Comic Pop is getting there though.
A lot of the other RUclips channels ask for people to subscribe in a very visual and demanding way with screenshots about "click on this button, click on the bell icon" etc. I don't recall ComicPop being that pushy for subscriptions.
@kktsvetkov That's one of the major reasons I like them. They don't grovel or complain about support. You either support or you don't but either way the "thanks for watching" vibe is always there. On the flip side Comic Drake who has more than double the subs of Comic Pop constantly grovels for people to support him, says he'll have to shut down his channel cause he isn't getting support so he'll have to get a job, and continues to post passive aggressive tweets on twitter. Don't get me wrong I generally like the dude and his content but as a viewer that turns me off to no end. If you love what you're doing you'e gonna make it work regardless of your supporters and sometime he doesn't come off that way. Comic Pop on the other hand does. I think if there was just one guy watching their videos they'd still sit around and do this stuff in their off time, and that type of passion really shows when watching their videos. Even if I don't always agree with what they're saying or they made a mistake on something it still makes me want to come back and digest their stuff.
Because of Atop The Fourth Wall, I've seen a lot of videos about bad early Image comics, like Youngblood, Doom's IV and Bloodstrike. When I came across an annual book fair near my hometown, I saw they had A LOT of those kinds of comics. And I was curious just how bad they really could be. So I started buying them. And for some reason, now I go there every year to buy terrible comics. So now I've got this growing comic collection that no sane person would start and when I saw you doing Extreme Justice, I thought "I must have that!" So thanks...I guess...
14:00 I was reading JLA at that time and the initial idea was kinda cool. The Justice League due to the events of the JUDGEMENT DAY crossover had split into three groups each calling themselves the "Justice League"...in part due to being betrayed by the UN. One group were more traditional super heroes in a standard JLA format... like Wonder Woman, Flash, Hawkman and some jobbers. The second group was a group of young or inexperienced heroes being mentored by the Martian Manhunter "JLTF" and the third was EXTREME JUSTICE, which was supposed to be Captain Atom's team that did not work with UN sanction and was supposed to be the proactive "edgy" team who took out problems before they happened. Given that there was almost a "cold war" at the time with tensions between the Manhunter, Diana and Atom....Diana and Atom briefly come to blows......this should have been DC's CIVIL WAR......but alas...it just made for two dull team books and one interesting one that nobody read-"Justice League Task Force.
@ComicPOP Sal, I'm not sure if the idea for this new show was 100% you, or a combination of people's ideas, but it finally struck me why I think you ComicPOP peeps are kicking so much ace at being comic youtubers. In addition to the larger trade-sized stories you do on back issues, now this idea allows you to go back and utilize all those long boxes of single issues that any comic collector would accumulate over the years. Well done, sir (or sirs and madame)!
Kyle Lundy After some initial struggle the World proceeds to be better run better than the original gods had been. The old gods get annoyed. Antics ensue.
This show is on par with Back Issues though I'd like to see more obscure and less talked about stories from Marvel and DC on this show if we can't get them on Back Issues like Ghost Rider:Trail of Tears or Silver Surfer: Reqeuim or any story involving The Question.
Hey Sal I'm from India and I'm a huge Spider-Man fan I've literally read all the Amazing Spiderman books right from the beginning. I actually gave up on it after One More Day and I thought comics suck and but then I found out that Dan Slott was doing this story called Big Time and I once again started reading it. I literally thought I know everything about Spiderman but after watching you I think you're more of a continuity buff when it comes to Spiderman. Thanks for making me love comics again and you're the comic historian I wanna be , your videos always make me smile and I hope you come to India soon
You gotta think that maybe they made Blue Beetle look like Spider-Man in this because when Steve Ditko created Ted Kord he was really just recreating Spider-Man in a similar way Jack Kirby recreated Thor by making the New Gods.
Will Everett III is the legacy Amazing Man - post-Crisis. His granddad was a cool character and a member of the All Star Squadron - it also seemed like they had plans for Will. But they killed off the team in Starman Vol 2 #58.
I was really disappointed that the Justice League book or at least the Trinity book didn’t expound in the idea that literally all (minus Lois and his son) of Clark’s friends and loved ones were dead/never existed and these people that look just like them didn’t know or trust him at all. Especially Bruce since they were so close back in his universe. I was looking for something hard hitting in Justice League Rebirth, it’s too bad.
@ComicPOP Is this your version of RLM's "Best of the Worst"? If so, I dig it. Keep up the good work! (Also, the beginning of Morrison's JLA run was great. Made Arthur cool, and did the seemingly impossible task of finding something for Martian Manhunter to do.). ;)
Hey guys! Great show, I really enjoy this show. It would be really cool if you did a Vertigo edition. I mean, apart from the really great stuff like Sandamn and Hellblazer, there have been some pretty crappy series there too.
Extreme Justice, was part of a period where the Justice League had split into 3 factions in the aftermath of the OVERMASTER arc. Captain Atom's team broke away from the League over ethical differences..they are the DC comics version of FORCE WORKS. Wonder Woman leads that era's more traditional JLA and The Martian Manhunter leads the "Justice League Task Force" which was like for young trainee heroes. It was kinda like CIVIL WAR for the JLA. It did not go well and this paved the way for Grant Morrison's JLA, which came about..because of/ after this era. Maybe you guys should compare all three of those.
When Rebirth started, I decided to give it a big shot and added like 10 titles to my pull and decided I would cancel the ones that I didn’t like. If those original 10 I added a year and a half ago, Justice League is the only one I’ve given up on, which is disappointing considering it’s the FUCKING JUSTICE LEAGUE.
i wonder why would you not look at Grant Morrison's run on Justice League? Thank you though I enjoyed your commentary and conclusions. Unfortunately I agree with you on all counts! :-)
Unpopular opinion. I like the rebirth justice league. Mostly because of Simon baz and Jessica Cruz but it have the potential to create groundwork for further justice league runs. Theres a villain in it called black shield that can become the nemesis to the lanterns.
this new show is great! it reminds me of when i barely found back issues, speaking of isnt it close to episode 200? id love to see a good the bad the ugly on annual (maybe giant sized) books...im still confused on what they are exactly. lol keep up the amazing work comic pop team.
The Detroit era JLA with Vibe, Gypsy...etc... Was the first attempt to "X-Men up" the JLA. Earth had just been invaded by Martians but none of the top tier heroes showed up because they were all too busy in their own books. They also mandated that to be in the League, you had to be in it full time. So this version of the JLA used alot of new or d-list heroes from the 70's DC implosion to be more "hip" and diverse. As you can tell..it clearly failed. I read alot of bad runs of JLA in my youth.
I would love to see fourth wall books....like a combination of a saga issue, an out of context animal man from the end of the run, and a deadpool or something. I think in general a what did I just read type theme like that cable issue from different times and authors would be spectacular. Or different 2099 books (spiderman, doom, etc.) Then again, there are the good crossover books, like when spiderman, Constantine, swamp thing or Batman show up in another character's book to boost the ratings.

Shawn Zamir FFXV if they'd stop pumping out the inconsequential crossover Back Issues 😤
A lot of the other RUclips channels ask for people to subscribe in a very visual and demanding way with screenshots about "click on this button, click on the bell icon" etc. I don't recall ComicPop being that pushy for subscriptions.

Dunno about that, I'd give that to ComicsExplained, I absolutely love his channel, these guys come in a close second followed by Comicstorian.

instaBlaster.
This show NEEDS to stay
Seconded.
DC didn't give Alan Moore Blue Beetle and Captain Atom, but they were totally ok with putting them on Extreme Justice....killer job guys!

I’m really enjoying this series. Thanks guys 😁
This is a great concept. I hope you keep this playlist going. Thanks for all the fun content
The Gods of Olympus ditching and having demigods take over is a good story pitch lol
Kyle Lundy After some initial struggle the World proceeds to be better run better than the original gods had been. The old gods get annoyed. Antics ensue.

I really love this new show guys!
Comic Pop Nation out in Denver, CO!
I love this discussion with justice league
cool now we just need a justice league comic for back issues this week

At least Vibe went out in a dignified manner.
Will Everett III is the legacy Amazing Man - post-Crisis. His granddad was a cool character and a member of the All Star Squadron - it also seemed like they had plans for Will. But they killed off the team in Starman Vol 2 #58.

Just watched an old back issues, captain america, back I time. Wow, never knew cap took 20 years off. Brilliant issues
I always loved the microphone you hsed here and on lot of the GBU.
@ComicPOP Is this your version of RLM's "Best of the Worst"? If so, I dig it. Keep up the good work! (Also, the beginning of Morrison's JLA run was great. Made Arthur cool, and did the seemingly impossible task of finding something for Martian Manhunter to do.). ;)
very cool :)
“I’m here to draw women with big boobs and guys with tiny... feet!” - Sal (2017)
Hey guys! Great show, I really enjoy this show. It would be really cool if you did a Vertigo edition. I mean, apart from the really great stuff like Sandamn and Hellblazer, there have been some pretty crappy series there too.
This is very entertaining keep it up
Fuck yes!!! Thanks crew
EXTREME Justice! Where they flex their muscles and yell at their enemies
Oh Lord the nineties Justice League before "Please save us Grant Morrison"
amazing show keep going!!! by the way 8:40 FULL VIBE!!! jajajajajaajajajaja
Time Displaced Heroes
ex: Days of Future Past
Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne
Superman and The Legion of Superheroes
Look, I have a massive soft spot for Booster Gold and Ted Kord Blue Beetle.... So any interaction I can get between them is welcome.
Theme ideas: 1st appearances and returns
I want to see some more blue and gold. Maybe JLI on back issues?
How about a space cops theme? Some Nova Core and a little GL?
Great show!
The Bad & The Ugly = All of the DCEU
Don't worry Ethan, I liked your "posers" joke XD
8:20
Oh hey! It’s the unlikely trio!
Christopher Priest is taking over Justice League soon so I'm hopeful we're about to see a VAST improvement.
Maybe this can be a podcast upload too like the Elseworld Exchange
Ethan is hilarious 🤣
Great show
Is Hackensack the same town that Richard pryors character pitches for in Brewsters millions?
You should do Punisher next episode, and please use the issue where he turns black as one of the books you read
Suggestion for GBU: Movie Adaptations in comics
Extreme Justice, was part of a period where the Justice League had split into 3 factions in the aftermath of the OVERMASTER arc. Hello everyone frommthe uk. Hope you are all well, the comic pop community included. I wish the best on you all
Thanks Darren!
When Rebirth started, I decided to give it a big shot and added like 10 titles to my pull and decided I would cancel the ones that I didn’t like. vibes on tv in the flash, no that obscure lol
Gd Key he is in comics, in fact evert character from the first comic is in the arrowverse
So Vibe is like carol danvers around house of M?
In honor of the Justice League movie people are worried no one will like let’s talk about three BAD Justice League issues lmao
More fan casting please I like it Please
Amazing-Man Will Everett III
@comicpop did you guys do a spoiler cast for IT and Stranger Things 2? I can't find it on either page
+Da S We didn't, no.
Is that a Nintendo Power Glove in the background???
Discriminating against lefties since 1989. Or righties? I've always been confused as to who it really benefited.
"I love the Power Glove...it's so bad" lol xD
i wonder why would you not look at Grant Morrison's run on Justice League? Thank you though I enjoyed your commentary and conclusions. Unfortunately I agree with you on all counts! :-)
Do solo sidekick series
The reason why Flash throws lightning is because the Flash does it in the tv show.
What's your guys opinion on the X-men red team line up?
Unpopular opinion. I like the rebirth justice league. Mostly because of Simon baz and Jessica Cruz but it have the potential to create groundwork for further justice league runs. Theres a villain in it called black shield that can become the nemesis to the lanterns.
This is even more proof of dc's legends of tomorrow being a discount justice league of america
this new show is great! it reminds me of when i barely found back issues, speaking of isnt it close to episode 200? id love to see a good the bad the ugly on annual (maybe giant sized) books...im still confused on what they are exactly. lol keep up the amazing work comic pop team.
do fire and ice make an appearance?
Does this mean we get a Punisher episode for Back Issues?
Comics about magics power characters!
They really should've called it Justice League eXtreme or JLX. I mean just cement it completely.
Did you guys steal Benny ( comicstorian) Harbinger Card board? I like it on ya'll set better anyway!
aliens in the 90s
Ohhhhhh yyyeeeeaaaaa!!!!!
Wait, witch Justice League is the one that gets beaten by a falling building?
So the first book seems to just be the tv justice league like all of those characters are on tv shows
Review the movie guys! I'd love to know what you think of it!!
The Detroit era JLA with Vibe, Gypsy...etc... Was the first attempt to "X-Men up" the JLA. Earth had just been invaded by Martians but none of the top tier heroes showed up because they were all too busy in their own books. As you can tell..it clearly failed.
I read alot of bad runs of JLA in my youth.
I loved JL movie
I would love to see fourth wall books....like a combination of a saga issue, an out of context animal man from the end of the run, and a deadpool or something.
I think in general a what did I just read type theme like that cable issue from different times and authors would be spectacular.
Or different 2099 books (spiderman, doom, etc.)
Then again, there are the good crossover books, like when spiderman, Constantine, swamp thing or Batman show up in another character's book to boost the ratings.
Hey! Don't go hating on my man Vibe.
Same but Avengers!!
Can someone please explain to me why people always shit on New Jersey?
Justice League Rebirth.. the entire 31 issues.. have been shit.
First appearance issues
Can you do justice League power rangers crossover for the next Back issues
Just do that
Dc's Vibe & Marvels Wonder Man are alike in a way 80s assholes on secondary B - List teams
Or a Dinosaurs or Western themes
A rebirth comic being disposable.......with so many "comic book fans" hyping up rebirth you'd think rebirth is perfect. Apparently not though.
I would love some Spider-Man, Star Wars, and Superman for good bad and ugly
For a new "good, bad, ugly" topic, how about a "femme fatale" episode? As in, comics that have women protagonists?
IDW! THEM
Second
