Marcin Gortat - Best Career Highlights From The Polish Hammer

Marcin Gortat, first Polish born player to get drafted, play in the NBA, and the first Polish born player to have a finals appearance was a one of a kind poster king. Ignore the fact that he is the son of Blake Griffin and Kevin Durant. He was a key component to the Magic’s finals run and, sadly, fell short of achieving that goal. Gortat nearly had an opportunity to win a ring with Dirk Nowitzki and be a starter with the Mavericks but because the Magic matched the Mavericks offer, he had to back up Dwight Howard for another season while he watched the Mavericks win their first Championship. He nearly had another opportunity to win a ring with LeBron and the Lakers, but declined the offer because Gortat wanted more then one year on the contract. Gortat and his popularity in Poland significantly increased the game of basketball in Poland and is a big reason why I myself became a fan. Wish he could’ve gotten a ring so many players desperately chase but he did have an incredible NBA career. Not bad for a pick 57 in the draft.
