To understand the full majesty of Amy Lee, might i recommend the full Sythesis concert version of Never Go Back, Lacrimosa, or The End of the Dream. They are a Finnish symphonic metal band with a Dutch singer, Floor Jansen. She has one of the best female voices in metal today! Floor is a master at conveying emotion through a song and her stage presence is unmistakable. Nightwish is very diverse, none of their songs are alike. There are epic and melodic songs, like the one I’m recommending now, but they can also go really heavy on you and the next song could be very celtic sounding or even jazzy. Their music is exceptionally well composed and arranged. The lyrics are very powerful and poetic, which leads to great storytelling. Nightwish is best appreciated LIVE. Give the song ‘Ghost Love Score’ a try. It was recorded at Wacken 2013, in front of 82 000 people. I like Nightwish, and Floor Jansen is an unreal vocalist like Amy Lee. I like Amy Lee more, but Floor is fantastic. These women are the more modern versions of singers like Ann WIlson and Annie Lennox and Pat Benetar, etc.
