I've been at the Digikey job for a few months now and like it. Since I don't have an RV they were able to set me up in a decent hotel. The town is small and they roll up the sidewalks at 10 PM but it's a nice town with bigger towns like Grand Forks less than an hour away. I haven't worked the beet harvest but most of the people I've talked to that have done it liked it. Yeah, it's muddy and can get cold, but it's decent money with the free campsites and many return.
I worked in a RV dealership in Vegas and cleaned used coaches. I now understand why there were SO MANY BEETS ‘under the couch under the sink in the bath vanity LOL knowledge is power
Imagine a company actually concerned about the safety of their employee's, not to mention being comfortable...geesh. AWESOME BOB, YOUR JUST AWESOME SIR.
So nice to have this information brought to so many and many who need work and an income. Thank you Bob and Alyssa for teaming up together and sharing these opportunities.
Hubby and I are so excited!! Our Dodge Grand Caravan has been approved, we've got all of our gear organized, we gave our employers our resignations and recieved our orientation date and campground location! Hurry Hurry September 22nd!! After the Sugarbeet harvest we're heading on to Arizona for the winter. #SeeYouDownTheRoad #Vanlife
I work for a major healthcare provider on the business side and they don’t treat their employees with this kind of generosity as this company does. My decision to convert to this lifestyle keeps getting easier and easier… thank you!
Guess I’ll have to do this next year because I’m going to start living in my van in about 2-3 months..glad I watched this video cause I’m on a fixed income.
I'm looking to serve as a fire watch with a firefighting trailer somewhere ? Certified as a fire watch and experience as a former k9 security officer and investigations
Good video on getting a job. What if people who are looking for more income can choose remote income that requires less physical activity and is more sustainable on the road?
I'm in Fargo for the sugarbeet harvest and been on stand by for a week because of the heat and now rain. I'd be gone if it wasn't for the stay pay. 4hrs a day at 16.90 an hr. About $65 a day
Thank you so very much for making this video! I didn’t even know that this was a thing. I’ve recently found out after working for seven years for the government but I’m gonna be losing my job due to the mandate. And so I’ve been looking for alternatives for work. I’ve decided to buy an RV and live in that full-time and this would be an amazing opportunity. I really love your channel and you truly change lives
When you apply for the beet harvest, they will put groups of people in a room, you will be watching a video in regarding what you will be doing, and at the end you will be taking a quiz, no worries it's all about the video, and they will make sure you pass!
Sounds like a cool short-term opportunity! I'm writing a comment since I notice there were no recent onese but noticed that these are still (based on checking out the websites mentioned) viable short-term opportunities to make some extra cash! Thanks!
I believe Digikey pays $18/hr for first shift; $20/hr for 2nd and 3rd shift. As Alyssa said I believe Digikey is looking for 3rd shift now. You should call Express for the most up to date info.
beet harvest... is there any kind of transportation from the campgrounds to the beet harvest site? Would hate to unhook a class C and drive it to the job site! Just wondering, I've never heard that addressed....
How are wages paid (cash, check, direct deposit) and how often? Are wages taxed? 1090, W-2? Is there a shift differential pay? What kind of clothing and PPE is required? (Boots, gloves, long sleeves, glasses, ear plugs, etc) Are any of these provided?
I tried it last year and got there early, so hoping I could have day shifts but nooooooo, got stuck doing 11p.m. To 9:00 a.m.. horrible rather be poor.
@@ajlang9668 EXpress treats you very well. The Digikey trainers are excellent. Digikey trains you for 5 weeks. The 2 in classroom; 3 weeks on the floor with a buddy/mentor. Picking is picking electronic parts. They could be 1 piece to a few thousand. Once picked you bag them up, stick the pick label on the bag and send it to packing for shipping out.

Spot on
Likely it helps keep them in favor with the locals also. You don't want to piss off neighbors or the police and local government...

I have ordered IC's, switches, Pot's, Voltage regulators & various other electronic components from Digi-Key since the late 80's, great company!!!
Thank you for sharing the opportunity with us!
Very interesting Bob, great info,it's nice to know you have options in the work field, thank you
Yeah for the beet harvest and Digi-Key! Our company buys a lot of components from Digi-Key to use in our processes. Nice to hear a plug for them!

Backbreaking work I wouldn't want unless starving.

From MI see the sugar harvest is Saginaw Michigan and Bay City Michigan area.
Hi sir. Hope your well keep up the great work. Watching from Ireland 🇮🇪
How fit do you need to be? Vaccinations/masking?
I was wondering the same thing.
Nice 👍🏽 thanks for the info
So if we're not doing beet harvest ourselves this year can we get referral bonus if ppl we refer do? And would we also be entered into the drawing???🤔
She never really explained what our duties are. That would of been helpful.

Great information!

Hi from Newark, DE
That digikey sounds good
Hey, Bob. I like the little tune in your intro. What is it?
Is thus job physically demanding?
Sounds like a plan, Brotherman
Excellent
I just shared this post on FB. Does that count for the drawing?
Thank you 🙏
Express is a temporary employment agency is there anyway to work directly for the beet companies?
Sounds like a cool short-term opportunity! I'm writing a comment since I notice there were no recent onese but noticed that these are still (based on checking out the websites mentioned) viable short-term opportunities to make some extra cash! Thanks!
I love the video.
I'm homeless on the streets with no vehicle, & no related job experience. How can I get a job like this?
Apply with express, they do put people in hotels as well
Is this the same place in Renville, MN off of US-212 because I was wondering because I deliver loads of bags from Michigan to here in a 53 van trailer
Is there shift differrential pay for night shifts?

No, none of the sites offer transportation. You would need to meet some fellow campers and car pool.
@@melanieann2374do they offer housing like digi key or is it only for campers with vans
Bravo 👏
Specifically re Digikey, are there accommodations for vanners, rv's, etc?
Is this cash? Do I need a bank account for this?
You can have your pay put on a card they give you if you don't want direct deposit.
Is DigiKey still hiring for this next season? Starting unbeetable in September, and am interested in this digikey job after also......
Yes indeed...hire date for Oct is around Oct 4-6 or so. If not there will be another class in nov.
Any CDL opportunities with these company's Bob?
Is there a lot of heavy lifting?

Seldom cash for obvious reasons . Direct deposit most often . Checks have to be cashed at higher $$ . Clothes ’equipment ' are your costs .
@@Lousasshol hahahaha love it
@@Lousasshol too funny, lol
I'm sure if you call Alyssa with those questions she would answer them. Bob provided phone number for Express .
How much vacation time?

hahahahaha MILD in the 40s! I've grown wimpy down here in Florida.
is that DIGI KEY job full time or just part time? i`m not ale to work outside in cold weather anymore
Full time in a climate controlled building.
Digikey building is climate controlled at 70 degrees. Not much OT though. I have been there for 7 weeks. I hope to work til April.
@@davidleigh443 where is that located ( state )?
@@davidleigh443 is it like Amazon fulfillment centers - your just filling orders for customers and shipping them out.

Hi
👍
They should set up 'man camps' like they do on oil and pipeline projects. Big, self contained dormitory trailers.
What Semi trucks do they have? 42 hour min.. 39 years exp.
