    Love this thank you for sharing! Could you share more about your cleaning process? I have a steam cleaner but not the little green, just want to make sure I’m doing it right!

    • @SHYSDESIGNS
      @SHYSDESIGNS  11 месяцев назад +1

      I’ve never used a steam cleaner so I’m not sure how to advise you to move forward with that. But without a little green you could probably scrub with a brush and a good fabric cleaner and then dry the surface as much as possible. And make sure to use a towel you don’t mind getting stained. I pretty much cleaned it like a light cleaning on my rug. A light scrub and I go back and clean the area a few times to make sure I got everything.

      Thank you! It isn’t, I deep cleaned it til the water ran clear and clear coated it with fabric protection like three times to prevent any staining

    Was it just the agitation from the cleaning that makes the holes unnoticeable? How do you bear to sell the things you fix? I can never give anything up. Love the new color!

    • @SHYSDESIGNS
      @SHYSDESIGNS  Год назад +1

      That and the color and cleaning made them virtually gone. Honestly I think I sell them at cheaper prices than they would probably sell for because I never think what I flip is amazing, but it is just my insecurities so ultimately I need a paycheck and do have to sell them at some kind of gain ha. Thank you for watching!

    What formula did you mix for the color?

  • @laurenabigail.

    Do you think this would work via mist bottle? Fully saturating the chair?

    • @SHYSDESIGNS
      @SHYSDESIGNS  Год назад +1

      I think it could work… just might take a lot longer and your hands might get crampy. The spray just wouldn’t penetrate deep enough into the fabric unless you go in with a gloved hand to smother it in the fabric.

    Do u think I can get a light purple chair to white?

    • @SHYSDESIGNS
      @SHYSDESIGNS  6 месяцев назад

      Unsure because the only way to get the color out would probably be bleach. You may be able to try peroxide and sunlight or something similar but I’m unsure if those wouldn’t remove the fibers of the fabric or not. You may be able to test a piece if you have any extra and see what works best

  • @MsBambi999

    Do you think it’s possible to fix stain from bleach or whatever color removing liquid on velvet sofa? I need your help 😭

    • @SHYSDESIGNS
      @SHYSDESIGNS  Год назад

      What I read.. first you need to know that bleach is destructive to fabric. So it’s really hard to properly dye fabric that has been bleached. But your best bet is to clean the area with white vinegar to remove any remaining bleach, then you want to clean the vinegar with a warm compress. After you do that allow the spot to dry. Then you should be able to try and match your velvet fabric with rite dyes. Look for extra fabric underneath the sofa or something. Bleach and clean the same way the spot is on your sofa and then test your dye to get your match as close as possible. But from what I read there is no guarantee that this will be a seamless fix.

    When you say deep clean what dose that mean? Rinse?

    • @SHYSDESIGNS
      @SHYSDESIGNS  8 месяцев назад

      I used the soap and water setup for the machine and cleaned the chair several times to make sure there was no question about the dye coming off or staining clothes

  • @Jaydin1197

    What was your water to dye ratio?

    • @SHYSDESIGNS
      @SHYSDESIGNS  Год назад

      The kettle holds 1.7L at max so I filled to the max point then added two bottles of dye. I kept it hot in the kettle and poured a small amount into a metal bowl each time I needed more dye I poured more from the kettle. This made the process a lot easier for me. It does boil over so I suggest adding dye after you boil the water

    Didn’t it needed some cleaning before painting?

    • @SHYSDESIGNS
      @SHYSDESIGNS  Год назад +1

      I gave it a quick vacuum but I didn’t see the need since I cleaned it between every dye job and a few more times until the water ran clear
