Losing an arm IS a flesh wound for astartes & doubly so for custodes, making a cloned arm is easy for the flesh-chemists of Terra. In fact they're originally from the Moon where science was still great in the Age of Strife (now the imperial tribunal is on the moon), Emps might pretends he's a genius but the original Thunder warrior he designed were failures, so he invaded the moon for its scientists who helped with the Primarques, Custodes & Astartes.
The Emperor likely made the Thunder Warriors as a prototype and enlisted the help of the scientists of Luna to make them suck less. Without Emps, the basis of the other kinds of super-soldiers wouldn't exist, and he probably used his psychic powers to help make the Primarchs.

Heard of a fairly wholesome SCP that does that, SCP-1230. AKA: a fantasy nerd's best friend. Pretty easily explained: it's a living journal that can absorb the information from any book it shares a shelf with; preferably fantasy adventure books like Narnia or LOTR. Then, when you read the few words in there and fall asleep, it sends you on an adventure. Of course, the wizard spirit inside gave himself a hard 8 hour limit given... the incident. I've never felt so bad for parchment between leather coverings in my life.

That ending of the boss being done in by a cheap spell reminds of the time my *first ever* dnd character character, a human arcane trickster rogue/druid took out a *WARRIOR KING DWARF WITH TOO MUCH GODDAMNED HP*, who was a kind of mid boss, with a "charm person" spell. The only reason I pulled it was because the dwarf king got a natural 1 on his wisdom save. I was gonna have him smack another character for almost getting me killed, but the DM unknowingly gave me a different idea. Have the dwarf king jump out of the nearest window. He unknowingly got his npc killed. Heh.

WHFRP even give stats for a Chaos Dragon with the note "throw this at the PCs if people are bored with the game, it'll be an amusing way to end things". So yeah, it's entirely within the rules to set up impossible-to-defeat opponents.

Every single character is a TTRPG stereotype. Emperor is the power gamer with a vague past, because he spent all his character building time on making her as strong as possible. Wamuudes is the lawful good knight who wouldn't hurt a fly unless in defense of his honor or kingdom. Chronicler is the barbarian on a quest to become stronger than every opponent, while not starting out stronger than every opponent. A latent powergamer? Dorn is the roleplayer who's too serious to have any fun whatsoever. Marshal is the rules lawyer who constantly interrupts play when any rules are bent in the slightest. Militant is constantly trying to derail the campaign and do whatever makes the least sense just to be obnoxious. Master is the normal roleplayer who builds something reasonable that can't work because of everyone else being crazy. Decius is the edgy rogue who can't stop sneaking, murdering, stealing or monologuing, or throwing shade. Karstodes is the player who just doesn't write their character, and is too polite to ask the DM to try to include them in the roleplay. Magnus is the railroady DM who doesn't write contingencies for when the players think differently from how he does.
I think they exaggerated the number of exlpoding dice in that one attack, for comical purposes ;) But we had a similar situation in a Dark Heresy game: A lesser demon entered our ship during warp travel, and our Administratum Sage (!) killed it with a SINGLE attack with her stupid staff. It wasn't even a real weapon!

Hey, I want to clarify a joke. When Sir Wamry Le Savoureux says "The liver of the dice", I think it is because in French Liver is "Foie" (Phonetically hard to explain in english) which is pronounced like the French word for Faith (Foi), he means that he has faith in the dice.
