In this video, we trace the origins and history of the 3-3-5 defense ran by Defensive Coordinator Tony White' with the Syracuse Orange football program. We'll see how this defense had its origin in the creative defenses that Joe Lee Dunn ran at New Mexico in the 1980's, how Dunn developed those defenses into the 3-3-5, and how White's mentor Rocky Long took over those ideas and developed them at schools like Oregon State, UCLA, New Mexico, and San Diego State. We'll also see what makes this version of 3-3-5 defense different from the one run by Jon Heacock with the Iowa State Cyclones.
