- Hey guys this is how I install injectors. Here is my buddy's truck that we installed some injectors on. We are planning on doing some more work to this truck to make it run even better to pull some iron around!
I’ve done these like 6 times now but color me impressed with the detail you put into this, you are doing some things I didn’t even do. Thanks for providing this for all the new folks who keep these trucks on the roads!
One thing I do a little different is use a hand pump with a tiny hose into the injector holes to pump as much fluid out of the cylinders as I can, especially if you don’t drain the high pressure oil rail and it dumps a lot of oil into the cylinders. I also never considered turning the engine over like you did, I’ll be honest I just threw the valve covers on with gasket, a few bolts, and hit the starter relay for a few seconds. I will definitely try your method, especially without compression and using the belt it seems easy enough.
It's way easier and you don't have to worry about bending a rod

Nice job but a little bit of advice and especially if u dint have the greatest batts or wanna pull out the charger and play that game.. while u have those glow plugs out and have ur partner in the cranking with the batteries on.. its usually at this point to go ahead and hook up your ids or datakogger software and pull up that icp pid. Note i usually have the harness on too, makes a little less room to out ur glow pkusg back in but with those harness in and valve cover set up with two bolts and glow plugs out. Go ahead and crank its till ur icp gets over 500. Let sit and cool off a sec. Do it again. This lets the pump build pressure effortlessly and is easier on the batteries and starter and is much faster. Then go ahead and pull ur teo bolts out and throw them plugs in. Take a spare craftsman deep1/4 in 8mm socket and grind the top down to a taper about halfway down the socket on the top outter half. That craftsman will still hold torque for glow plugs. Keep this as your special glow plug socket. Helps keep it off those rockers and guides it out on way out with glow plugs too so it doesnt hang on a rocker. Reason for putting harness on before setting valve cover on with two bolts is to keep so much oil from leaking out when doing thst good prime crank with glow plugs out. Nice vid all together. We all boince our tricks off of each other.

Did the truck burn blue smoke sometimes under load is that another way you can tell injectors are bad?

How smokey are 160/0’s?
Depends on the tune. On stock they barely blow smoke. On 140hp they blow a lot of smoke
Safe for a stock automatic? E4OD?
I would say yes.
How do you like the 160/0s?
For a work truck/ daily driver they love it.

Just looking for (Towing Performance)for 30ft boats and trailers, I already have the kc sxe balanced assembly and 1.0 housing, exhaust intake gearhead tunes. Im thinking nice HPOP cnc stag 2 most likely but was stuck between 160/0 and 180/30s. Dont have access to either to drive so have no clue what they are actually like.
Honestly I would do 160/30cc. Those are the best for towing. And would match your turbo perfectly
I'd do it if i had friends and money lol
