I have the same laptop and the internal screen doesn't work but it does output to an external monitor UNTIL you install windows updates (Win10). Then the backlight just stays on and I get no image. So I'm thinking is it worth trying to repair this even? I tried a different LCD panel with same results (no video). Maybe the cable is bad or the motherboard...
