Thank you for this. Im just replacing the usb plug in "media hub" and before i started following the directions.. which lead slightly astray on this job. I figured i would at least check on youtube. And this is perfect. Took me 5 mins to R+R the media hub.

Will the gear shifter light come on when the PRNDL bulb is out. Mine is out only the park light and I haven't had any shifter problems but when that went out the shifter light came on
So my question is, u can't just remove the back half, it's all one piece. I carry mail and just need to remove the part behind the shifter so I can set there

There is no separate switch or sensor. The control modules monitor the gear position over the communication network and when reverse is selected....the camera gets turned off. Sensors such as the trans range sensor are used to determine the gear selection.
MotorCity Mechanic is just that am having problems with my cámara is not working I already checked the back of the stereo fuses I already took apart the lift gate to se all the connectors and everything seems to be fine I get a black screen to check all my surroundings and a few days ago it did work one time and next day nothing could it be possible that I need a new cámara?

Does this also apply to 2016 Cherokee Limited? Everything looks the same. The only reason I need to remove it is to see why cup holder is loose.
