Truly inspiring... this was the first viola solo I've ever listened to (without other instruments)... and THIS is the very piece that made me fall in love with the viola, even more than the cello. This instrument is so versatile and beautiful, yet so underrated...
Every time I hear this piece of music, played by Anna erova, its so VERY VERY GOOD!!!! YOU ARE THE BEST VIOLIN PLAYER ALIVE!!!! IVe hear this piece played by many male violinplayers but it was never as good as yours ANNA! YOU ARE THE GREATEST!!!! Love from Holland xxxx Patty de Gooijer Love from Holland.
Beautiful sound, so lush and full. That's a fine instrument. She is fabulous, great player and beautiful woman. The venue is also perfect. Fantastic video!
Bravo! The acoustics in the hall are amazing, and the pizzicato finale is charming. Thank you for showcasing the beautiful tone quality that we violists can achieve.
I agree with you abriscaru. Viola takes from the best of the violin and the cello, which are in my opinion, two of the most beautiful instruments. That makes viola number one. Too bad there are so few of us.
Wonderful! HV is a newly discovered composer for me (we only studied "mainstream" ones at college). The more I hear & play his music the more I am astounded by his much underrated genius! This is the viola at its best, & Anna plays it exquisitely here: excellent tone intonation & general control/command of its technical & aesthetic demands without the bravado. She shows a true understanding of HV, who to me is more like the Violin/a-Chopin as Paganini & Wieniawski are the Violin/a-Liszt.
Anna Serova is been playing since she was a child...and since then, She had always studied a lot... and broke several brick walls!!! Well, keep up your commitment too you guys and thank you very much for your support to Anna's one! :-)
Absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful! Well done! (I may or may not have given my computer a standing o.... xD) Gosh I can't get over how beautifully you played this! I wonder if my teacher will let me play this anytime soon?!?
:-)) Thank you for your compliments and most of all for your advice but , you know, ...this is Anna Serova... She is natural and she has got a unic, amazing, and directors and public beloved style!!!
I remember to you all that Anna Serova and her chamber music group will perform in the Classic festival named "Pietre che Cantano" in Aquila (Italy). They will play the night of next August 21st. See ya up Aquila roads!!! :-)
She plays Capriccio for viola sola by Henry Vieuxtemps, op.9 Henry Vieuxtemps was born in Belgium in 1820 and was considered the belge Paganini. This piece is romantic and virtuoso at the same time.
Hi everybody! Merry Christmas and Amazing new Viola Year to all and each of you amazing Anna's fans out there, ..keep up your music passion alive and thank you for your kind support to her!!!! :-)
Anna Serova performed 2 great recitals in Aquila's Festival " Pietre che Cantano" (digit this in google for more infos and look also at the great sponsors). " Pietre Che Cantano" is the amazing classical festival annually perfectly organizied and directed by pianist Luisa Prayer. Anna and her chamber music group magically closed the festival playing August 21st.
You know i have to listened to you before i start to work. You play like an angel. Please let me know the way i can find that piece of music to learn that in my viola,Thank.

Hi, She plays a gorgeus viola made by Urs Maechler but she often plays the Viola Amati, masterpiece property of Cremona's administration. The Stradivari tag is only a reminding for people after instruments and Cremona ( town of Stradivari, Amati, and many others string instruments makers now and then). Thanks for your comment. Stay tuned. :-)
...0.0 that is so good!!! i want to play as good as her. i've only played for a year now and i'm really dedicated to learn more. i don't have enough money for a private teacher but when i'm her age, i want to be a great as she is!
The viola's "voice" covers the area around middle C, which places it squarely between the bass and treble clefs (although a lot of music for the viola is written in treble clef, thanks to the upper positions). To avoid having to read a lot of ledger lines written below treble-clef staff, the alto clef is used, instead. But it is not uncommon to see both used interchangeably in a piece.
I play viola, i have been for four years, and it's an easy thing to learn, ive already played with the Welsh National Opera, nd im doing my grade 8. However i didnt start on Violin, i can still read four clefs fluently though so it's not very hard to transpose to violin parts, or cello parts (octave above obv).
@littleJenna25 of course not! Its never too loud as to hurt your earns or anything. It might seem a little loud at first, but don't worry too much about it:) Good luck on your lesson:)
thats wrong to rate which instruments are better. Its all about the player, how that player gets the sound out from the box that it is trapped inside of. How much emotion and power the player expresses. Not about which instrument is better. I play the violin, but personally i love the viola because of the deeper sound it gives.
She plays beautifully! I recently bought this piece at a local violin shop, and I really want to learn it now! What kind of viola strings is she using, by the way? My viola definitely needs new strings. Despite knowing strings perform differently on every instrument, I still want to get a ballpark figure on what I want to be shopping for.
must be tiring. ur good ^^ i couldnt even hold up my viola for more then a miniute without having to put it down again. ha im in grade 6 going into grade 7.i just started a few months ago and i luv it ^^
@josiphorus Hi Josi! Do not think about the time that will be necessary but try to organize it and think about the joy and satisfaction you get from studying. Brake a leg!

There is absolutely no question about it. The sound of Anna Serova's viola is superior.

I really love her sound. Thank you so much, you just make me go practice right now. I'm gonna get this piece
I am learning the violin but the viola is my favourite instrument. This is beautiful.
Harika. Hayatımda bu kadar güzel bir eser ve yorum daha dinlemedim. eline sağlık anna. Mükemmel bir ton ve müzikalite.
love it!! love the sound of the viola, and the lady just sings through her instrument :)
That's pretty one of my best reasons why I wanted to pick up the viola. It's quite obscure, but so much hidden beauty...
I remember playing the viola.. I was first chair in my orchestra, but the double bass is a much for satisfying instrument to play. :)
Excellent intonation and bowing. I'd love to play my cello there!
Absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful! Well done! (I may or may not have given my computer a standing o.... xD) Gosh I can't get over how beautifully you played this! I wonder if my teacher will let me play this anytime soon?!?
Beautiful!!! Violist forever!
:-)) Thank you for your compliments and most of all for your advice but , you know, ...this is Anna Serova... She is natural and she has got a unic, amazing, and directors and public beloved style!!!

I LOVE THIS PIECE!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
I love you and your viola! Its so hartbreaking and so beautiful and so warm, what can I say: IT'S GREAT!!!! love you xx
Patty from Holland
I've always dreamed of playing this.
Very good! Sound was bright but strong at the upper registers, as clear as a violin, but without losing the depth one expects from the viola or cello.
Wow, she's amazing!
this reveals viola's beauty. i love it!
Beautiful. Absolutely stunning.
Yay! I started in 5th grade :D, and now I'm in seventh grade junior chamber. Violas are really needed in some orchestras.
I remember to you all that Anna Serova and her chamber music group will perform in the Classic festival named "Pietre che Cantano" in Aquila (Italy). They will play the night of next August 21st. See ya up Aquila roads!!! :-)

i wish i can play like her. this is the best viola video on youtube
I hate it whenever someone asks me "Is that a violin?".......This video makes me proud to be a violist.

Great to see that Frau Blucher found work after "Young Frankenstein". She sounds good!
I played the Telemann in G major concerto for my first college audition :)
Im learning this song for a audition for Symphony at my school.
Woooah! What a great sound! You play very well!

Listening to this with Flux Pavilian's 'Can't Stop'. If you get the timing right.. PERFECTLY AMAZING.
Love this performance. Everyone else plays it quietly.
I wanna play the viola just like her. Right now I'm trying to master one of the songs from Brandenburg's concerto.

mark22sara: explained simply, the viola is a larger version the violin which plays in a lower register (musically, a fifth lower).
Miss Anna Serova Start playing as a little child and when she finished her University was asked to start teaching in it viola at once.
