Hello Chioma! Thanks for producing such an informative content. I’m considering to take up a graduate diploma (post graduate)course in my country, may I know if it’s accepted for applying PR in Aus? Thanks ❤
Nope. Nothing else required except you want to be a mental health accredited social worker, then further training and supervision requirements must be met. See the link www.aasw.asn.au/membership-information/information-for-applying-for-the-accredited-mental-health-social-worker-credential
Hi again ma, thanks so much for your effort in this videos. Relating to a Ms in SW, how many years of work experience does a skill assessment require after graduating, if I happen to come from a non-social work background? Thanks again..
Hi Jessica, as long as you can meet the 65 points cut off, you do not necessarily need work experience after your BSW or MSW to return a positive skills assessment.
thank you so much for this wonderful video. I'm curious about the licensing though a I have read you need to be licensed to the AASW to get PR? is this not true? thank you!
You don't need to be licensed for PR, rather you need to demonstrate eligibility for membership and this is done by showing relevant SW qualifications (and experience if applicable)

However, on their skills assessment form, it also says that applicants can take the IELTS exam as many times as they want. It's contradicting information. From my interactions with other people, my understanding is that you can only combine results from two consecutive sittings to meet the minimum band scores, but you can still sit the exam multiple times. I hope that makes sense

You must have a social work specific qualification in addition to your work experience to meet eligibility requirements for a migration skills assessment and applying for PR. Otherwise, maybe you should consider studying.
Hello Chioma. I do similar work in Uk but no qualifications in social work which is what I would like to do. I’m 56 years old and I don’t think I could do this course at my age. Are you allowed to work while on a course? Thank you for the wonderful information xx
You can work while you study, but your pre qualifying experience will not count toward migration as a social worker. Also, at 56, you can't access the skilled migration visas
