I saw it and heard it served as a direct sequel to the 1974 film, but it looked like a regular normal reboot without any connections except the main girl is the Sawyer baby. On top of that, they fucked up the demographic: if that girl is supposed to be in her 20s why the fuck is there iphones, 2010s music and cars in a movie that would have taken place in the 90s? She was supposed to be 20 something and that would make it 1993, or unless she is portraying a 40 year old broad. But the newest one will serve as a respectable sequel to the 1st movie
