Wrong. The closest a person could locate you with your IP address is the suburb you live. The worst damage they could do to you is send a DoS attack to your network, but that's easily resolved.

If you piss anyone off online who is savvy enough, they can find where you live, what you do, and all the info they need. If you really care about your whereabouts being shown, delete your old accounts and social medias.

yeah BUT, to be fair almost all, if not all, attacks come from bad security habits like easy passwords, mindlessly clicking on shady links and downloading all files from complete stranger´s emails that came in, no matter how weird it may be.
there is actuallly more info you can find. if you impersonate the exposed ip and do ipconfig, it will show everything and it will make it more dangerous. they can even get into your router with a sip if theres no login

While this is possible with a protocol named ssh, it's most of the time only available on private networks, theres R.A.T services that open a port to be controlled by a 3erd party app which is exposed to the hacker, depending on your OS it could be detected fast therefore not even work, most R.A.T viruses require the victim to have the requirements installed on their side to even run the viruses. yes, they do know, but let´s be real... they could not care less as to what you´re doing on the internet. Each website you visit has an IP address that gets logged stored in your router´s information, so alot of data is stored there, but no ISP really cares about what you visit. If you´re looking up recipes on how to build bombs and buy illegal items, then it´s more probable that the actual search engine like Google will snitch on you rather than your ISP.
If you really don´t want them to know, ie you´re planning on doing something illegal, because if it´s just for p06n, you can use incognito and no one would really find out or care, you can use TOR, a vpn and a virtual machine just for added safety.

well, he can get that from an email, pretty much any form of contact, if you lent him one of your devices or if you let him connect to your wifi... unless you really piss him off enough to have him create a malicious program (which is not easy and most of the time not worth the hassle, atleast for hatred towards someone, I wouldn´t do it... maybe in exchange for a few 10k+, I´d do it) AND he has enough emotional intelligence to hipocritically social engineer you... Often off by 100 miles or more. If that is something that makes you uncomfortable hide your IP address and use a VPN. Personally I would be more concerned with the information that you expose online through other means. IP address is about the worst way to track you online. Virtually any website that tells you that your IP address is sensitive is trying to sell you a VPN service. LOL!

If someone knows your IP address that doesn't mean they can view what you are doing in real time. An IP is only useful for getting your WiFi router's location.

If you’re living with him you have the same one as him as you’re in the same house using the same router
If its based on a private network as you've claimed then its absolutely possibly, ssh is a big part, but it only plays a big part if you're on pc, moblie devices can be monitored by specific software called wireshark, bettercap, and many more popular tactics, but if your router encrypts your traffic then you're fine. Other protocols for connection require server side acceptance, so if you don't know what ssh is and don't use it on your pc, most likely that port isn't opened on your computer. While there are exploits like metasploit that goes based off of your OS, for example if you're running a vulnerable software that hss access to a certain port that your computer trusts, most likely that service can be detected by software like Nmap. If your dad isn't tech savvy then, you're safe. Hope this helps👋

bruh, nothing is going to happen. Just don´t disclose any more of your information to him since you providing him with information can be the real gateway to get social engineered. Worst case scenario with your IP... I guess he could request to connect to your computer, but obviously you just click "no" when the request comes in, and there you go. This is kind of like when scammers connect to old people´s computers through anydesk or teamviewer, they still need permission from your computer to connect.
