Pilot action for mapping and retrieval of derelict fishing gears in Ria de Vigo

In the CleanAtlantic Project a pilot action was carried out in Ria de Vigo focused on the detection, mapping and retrieval of Derelict Fishing Gears. This video addresses the “ghost net” problem and shows how around twenty of them were located in two of the Galician rias in collaboration with scuba divers clubs and Fishermen guilds. Finally three fishing gears were retrieved with the support of a professional team of scientific diving and the Galician Coast Guard Service
